In a lot of ways Kamala is still a kid who wants her dad to pay attention to her. Her dad figure right now just happens to be a woman who probably drinks too much. The teenager still isn’t sure if she’ll leave any day now to go back to her old shack. The threat that brought them to her, freezing alone, seems to have passed. (Really, who knows with this place?!) That is what makes Kamala for lack of a better word a little clingy. She does not need to show up to the bunker with a snack and a not-so-subtle series of questions about what meal would tempt her to come home for dinner. Kamala does it because she doesn’t know how much time they have left together.
She realizes more with every day how much she is going to miss sharing space with Jessica even with all her quirks. They are in some ways like a little family. Losing a piece of their unit is a scary thought. Kamala can’t be sure if it’s chatting about food nonstop or peer pressure that gets her to come home for dinner with her. They’re exiting the pod soon after and making the walk home to House Six when things get weird. Kamala has had some creepy stare downs. She once lived with a guy who could see her soul. It doesn’t get creepier than that. The guy making eyes at them is different… And weirdly familiar. Kamala stares back before it hits her. She points at him carelessly.
“Is that Hipster Viking?! He looks so old in regular lighting!” Long story as always.
