Sabriel grasps his hand with a firm grip. Her palms are calloused, but as unnaturally pale as the rest of her.

"Do I... need to do anything?"

"Accept what it is I am giving you." That is how it worked for him and Alistair, him and Shiro. He focuses on the knowledge of tracking game through the woods, the tells, the signs left behind by prey and predator alike. He holds fast for thirty seconds, offering over what plants he's noticed in this space that are safe for consumption and those that are poisonous.

Sabriel shuts her eyes, opens her mind, and tries to focus on what he's told her. It feels... more like knowledge she's gained from a book rather than from practice, but it stays in her mind even after he breaks contact.

"That- thank you. This should be useful- if nothing else, I'll be able to help find food."

"Which will be the greater concern, once we set down for camp come nightfall." Feeding the haggard assembly of villagers, fighting back the cold- it won't be easy or fun, but it will be well worth doing.

"That, and starting fires- which I already know how to do," She had a knife, she just needed to find some flint. And help gather food- she doubted they'd find enough for anything close to a full meal, but traveling would be slower still on completely empty stomachs.
