"A pleasure, Anne." It's something he says on autopilot, but Reyes seems to realise a moment later how absurd it sounds, because he laughs, a dry and sardonic sound. "At least, I'm fairly sure it is. Despite... all this."

Then he glances around the shrine with a furrowed brow, and rolls his shoulders. "Time for us to figure out where the hell we are?"

"It could be worse. At least we have our wit about us, more or less." Shaken, by the nature of the videos, and certainly a little colder than perference, but no one was hurt, no one was dying.

"That would be the next logical course of action, unless there's a Starbucks here in which case I wouldn't mind relaxing for a hot minute." Sarcasm, of course. "None of this looks familiar to me."

More things than that are unfamiliar, it seems, because Reyes asks out of automatic bemused curiosity: "What's a Starbucks?"

There are far more important questions to figure out, of course, but since none of the answers are forthcoming (they're in a shrine with red poles and beams everywhere around them, adding a strange cast to the light, and that's all any of them know), he might as well go for what idle curiosity Anne can answer.

"It's a fancy coffee chain where I'm from. They were pretty muc everywhere. Small village like this? They'd have a Starbucks. Bigger cities? You'd find them on opposite street-corners."

Okay, so maybe you wouldn't find one in an actual shrine, but they were pretty invasive.

"I ... wish I could be more help. I hadn't really thought his sort of ... mass relocation was possible."

"Me too, and me either. Then again, if they can make us cross entire galaxies and universes, what else is there to be surprised by?"

Then, that makes him realise something with a chill: what if they aren't even on the island anymore?

Reyes goes for his wrist device then, starting to tap through it with a kind of intense interest -- not panicked, exactly, but focused. He has to find out if the network is still there, if anyone's still in the village, if they still have a connection to them. "Have you ever heard of this place before?" A wave of his other hand to the shrine around them.
