Sometimes better changes nothing. Erasing the past is impossible. Going forward is the only option. But it is not easy. Hawke occasionally wishes for righteousness. She wishes she could believe as strongly as some of the people she knows what is right and what is not. People are too flawed for a black and white world, in her opinion. This seems true for all of the others too.

"It's the one constant," she agrees. "No one can forget. People tell me I should, that it's in the past, but forgetting it takes away the responsibility." And then there are deaths, blood on her hands, with no recourse.

Sometimes, he wishes he could forget, but then who would he be? And who would pay for the sins that they committed, even without meaning to? He knows it's not the best thing for anyone to understand, but he can't forget. He's glad to hear that Hawke feels the same.

"No, you're right," he says firmly, maybe a bit too firmly, but it's what he feels. Frowning, he finally turns back to where they are and now that the videos are done, there's a new problem.

Where are they?

He turns that look on Hawke, raising his brows, hoping she can read the question, because he's already trying to summon up his ability to see paths, wondering how badly off they are.

Hawke nods her head at him and then like him starts to look around. They're all let loose now, apparently the videos are past, and she goes immediately into movement. "Someone check to see on the wristbands if anything's been said." Hawke doesn't because frankly she's not very good at it. She's learned to communicate fairly well, but it's not her natural way of communicating.

Instead she looks out to get a read on where they are, sharp eyes looking toward the sky and tree line. "We're not by the village," she says, glancing over her shoulder at Cougar. "This is different terrain. Hard to say if we're on the same land, but I think so." There's no real reason to assume they were transported to an entire different planet, but since they are on unfamiliar ground, it still means they have to figure out what next.

He already knows what needs to be done. He gestures to the color on his band. It's a blue, and he's used his powers before to know that they show him the right path, plus his skills as the go-ahead scout means that he needs to start mapping their route back.

"Get everyone," he says, or as many people as they can manage. He checks the texts and sees that not everyone is gone, which is good, so hopefully they can get someone to look in on Magdalena. For now, he needs to figure out the path ahead. "I'll be back, an hour." He can get at least two miles out in that time, mark a path, and start to lead them there after ensuring there's no dangers waiting.

Hawke glances to him, and then nods. She can do her own scouting ahead later on, after they're securely with the rest of the crew again. "Be safe," she says, with a little firmness behind it. Now that she's claimed him and Jake as her people, she'll always look out for them, no mater what. Especially after what they all went through. She goes onto the wrist device to pin point the others, and get ready to head out with the other two.
