Unlike Sabriel's, the surroundings of Tim's vision are comfortingly familiar for Kurt. The sound of the calliope and the crowd, and anyone watching him will see him smile fondly at the interaction between the acrobats and the excited boy. He'd once lived for these moments- the thrill in hearing the gasps of the crowd, or these more humble ones, knowing he was playing a part in what he hoped would one day be a prized memory for a lovely family. Where the lie of "stage makeup" and the one-night magic of the circus made him the star of the show instead of an unwanted freak of nature.

And he knows the sound of the wire snapping, and even despite knowing that none of this is real, and that his powers don't work here, he still tenses and tries to teleport, out of reflex alone.

This was so similar to the first time he'd ever done so. When Amanda had been falling to her death, and his need to protect her had led to a miracle.

It leaves Kurt more shaken-looking than Tim when the vision is all over. "Mein Gott," he says, doing his best to huddle the group closer together in preparation for whatever comes next.

Tim glances over at the sound of the voice. The man standing there is... very unusual in appearance, but the stricken look on his face is unmistakable. It's odd to feel like he has to apologize for his memories, but-- "Sorry."

"I'm sorry-" Kurt offers himself, jolted back to reality and looking sheepish. "I grew up in the circus," he offers in explaination. "There's normally nothing that makes me happier. That you saw such a thing so young-" and he stops here, failing to find the right words.
mrsarcastic003: (Brothers--Whap!)

Tim shakes his head. "No, it's all right. I didn't think--I guess it would be very jarring, if you didn't know what was coming." He hadn't at the time of the memory, of course, but it was one of his more formative memories, and it's replayed in his nightmares often enough that there hadn't been any surprises in it for him. He smiles a little. "Dick's told me a lot about growing up in the circus. He was happy there, too."

Kurt gathers that's the name of the older boy, and he nods. "You came to know him later?" and Kurt stops and shakes his head- "nein, nevermind- lingering to reflect on these here probably isn't-"

and then Cissie's vision starts.
