"Nor would I- but I'm afraid we've had little choice in the matter." Sabriel lifts up her head, watching him carefully.

"I am Abhorsen. I take it your name is Timothy?" In a situation this strange, Sabriel resorts to etiquette training, her tone polite and her movements graceful as she offers a slight curtsy.

"I've been here less than a week- do these sorts of things happen often?"

Not being from a time and place where such things are common, Tim doesn't bow in return, but he does incline his head in greeting, falling back on his own manners. "Tim, please, unless there's call for a very formal introduction. It's nice to meet you" He smiles a little. "I've only been here a few weeks myself, so I have no idea how often things like this happen." Though considering his arrival had been at some kind of... maybe magical New Year's Eve party, and Jason had referenced a similar Halloween party, and what little he's seen so far in the public record... "I have a feeling surprises like this aren't that uncommon, even if they're not always this specifically unpleasant."
