It's been a strange, rough couple of months for our intrepid villagers — Bunkers, superpowers and clones, oh my! Perhaps the Observers are sympathetic to their plight, or maybe they just have a peculiar sense of humor. At any rate, they've set up a gathering space chalk full of summer camp goodness, no strings attached. Not that anyone knows that part.

Just before sunset, a cheery message pops up on wrist devices all across the settlement and beyond. The instructions seem simple enough, although one does have to wonder at what dubious gift awaits them all after everything is said and done.

Marshmallows are on the house, so grab yourself a stick, strap on a sash and get to roasting, villagers. Skinny dipping, sing-alongs and friendship bracelets optional.

Vanille has been through quite a lot in her lifetime and most of the trauma has become balled up into one simple coping mechanism: being endlessly cheery. She has a more serious side, but it doesn't often show and right now is not at all the time for being serious.

"Oh!" she chirps happily, clapping her hands together excitedly. "That's easy to do. I thought there was some kind of reason for it, like anyone you make one for is now your friend."

Not that this isn't exactly what will happen with Vanille, mind.

Wynonna is familiar enough with this coping mechanism- it is one her baby sister excels at as well as she does everything else. And this girl's bubbliness definitely puts Waverly on her mind.

"That is kind of the sentiment behind the idea, I guess," she admits. "I suck at bracelets, but I bet I can give you a pretty wicked hair wrap. They were big in one of the group homes I lived in." Until one girl used hers to hide sewing needles from the craft room, anyway.

That girl may or may not have been Wynonna.

Vanille grins brightly at the idea of a hair wrap. "I've never had one of those before," she admits. "Fang and I always wear a lot of bracelets, but I've never done a hair wrap before." She suspects the concept is a lot like making a bracelet of some kind and now she's interested in finding out and maybe trying one herself. "Would you show me how to make one if you try?"
