The day dawns bright and just a little cool, soft mist rolling over the distant mountains as the forest stretches and yawns in the breeze. It's another beautiful morning in this new-old village, just waiting for its inhabitants to begin filling it with the work of the day.
But this day, there is a surprise. A gift, if you will, not unfamiliar to the old timers, although they know too that sometimes these gifts come with strings.
On the lawn in front of the 6I inn, all of the tables, chairs and even the bar has been moved out into the breaking sunshine. A breakfast feast has been arranged, tables piled high with every imaginable delicacy and comfort food of a certain era: Muffins, toast, coffee, fruit, pop-overs, crumpets, lamb chops, porridge, hot chocolate, biscuits, and every kind of egg, just to start. Even the bar is stocked for those itching for mimosas, mint juleps or irish coffee.
Of course, anyone who has spent time in the wilderness can tell you: In a place gone wild, it's only a matter of time before the scent of food draws in unwanted visitors. Eat up while you can, villagers; you may be sharing your plate soon.

He digs into his food and grins as he takes a bite of the pork chops. "You should try those. They are really good."
no subject
"Oh yeah?" He raises an eyebrow at his own plate. The pork chops are near the bottom of his overloaded plate. It's much easier to steal a piece off Danny's. Grinning, he stabs the next cut piece with his fork...

He looks around. "Yeah, it would be too much to hope for to get some modern luxury, wouldn't it. And of all the things we could have, I am not sure they would be my first pick of things to bring here."
no subject
"No?" Thinking a moment he takes another bite, chews it completely and swallows while contemplating. "What would be one of you first picks?"
no subject
He grins at Steve enjoying the pork chop. He had known Steve would like it. Of course, Steve will eat almost anything but Danny prides himself on knowing his partner's tastes by now.
"Yeah, we should try to figure out what seasoning that is and write it down."

Steve looks at his cup of coffee with an almost pout expression on his face. "Yeah, I'm going to miss this once it's gone again." But, that's something he's going to worry about later. Right now he's happy to have it at all, along with all this good food.
"Maybe we can catch and tame one of the animals that came through. Use it like a horse. Might even be able to build a cart for it." That would take some effort but not impossible.

But, he puts some thought into what type of animal. He had a hand on getting a good number of them out of the fountain. "There was one that kinda looked like a horse and we could try our luck with the Elk, you never know we might get lucky."

He pauses a moment then shrugs again as he puts another fork full of food in his mouth and says, "Besides there are doctors here and I heard they found medical supplies in the inn." Not that he's expecting to needing either.
no subject
"If it kills you don't blame me, alright?"
no subject
Then his looks morphs into more of a disgruntled glare. "If I'm dead I can't blame anyone, so you're off the hook there."

He grins "And you're right, I did."
