[MINGLE] Saints & Sinners Masquerade

WHERE: Corn field next to the inn
WHEN: 31 October, all day and night
OPEN TO: ALL - MINGLE
WARNINGS: Please warn as appropriate in your subject lines
NOTES: Please make sure you have read and understand the event details! If you have questions, drop them here. RECOMMENDED BUT NOT REQUIRED: Put your SCRUBS COLOR in your OTA subject line for folks doing bingo. Time your OTA for the harvest feast, the masquerade, or both. Costume matches and details for folks who did not get matched are here.

This morning, our intrepid villagers awoke to a surprise of the nicer kind: A bundle of clothing left at the foot of their bed, tied with a bow. There is also a note: Put on your new outfit and join the festivities in the corn field next to the inn.

You may be thinking, what corn field next to the inn? The one that sprung up fully-mature overnight, of course.

In the middle of the field, villagers will find an autumn feast: Tables piled with harvest time food and drink, warm and rustic decorations, the day's sunshine fending off any chill in the air.

Tuck in and enjoy, villagers, but take note: Things often look different in the dark, and you might be one of them.

"That is a feel I get pretty well. Know what helps? Cider. And...flaky pastry." At least that's what's closest to them at the moment and when in doubt? A glass of something mildly alcoholic can't possibly hurt.

The stronger stuff, maybe, but the cider? Should be safe enough.

"Well...we're all pretty spread around, firewood is limited hunting's going to get difficult, the influx of corn will help with food stores but- yeah. More than a little."

Kat looked over at Tony with a tiny hint of a smile tugging across her lips. "Thanks." She wasn't a big drinker. Alcohol impeded her ability to think and her mind was what had kept her a live all these years but this place was different and for a night, she could indulge.

"I have some wood split at my home. I was thinking of taking it to the inn and staying there through the winter." Kat hadn't made up her mind yet but she was almost positive that her house would be safe without her for a few months.

Not that there was room at the inn but she'd figure it out.

"Huddling up when it gets colder would cut down on how many people need firewood, more bodies in a building will keep the temperature up. I think most people will start coming in close even if normally they wouldn't. Or at least I'd hope so, I have no idea how bad it gets here." But hes going to go on the safe side of assuming pretty damn bad.

"Yeah. I don't think there is enough room at the inn if that were to happen." A lot of people had their own rooms and while there were two beds in each room, Kat didn't feel right asking to stay with someone she didn't know.

"I've heard that they've had several feet of snow last year and were stuck inside for several days."

"Note to self, design an extension." Odds of getting it finished before winter hits hardest? Slim to none but- it can't hurt. "As many people that don't want to stay in a house? It wouldn't be a terrible idea."

"That would probably take a few months to build." Designing was one thing but finding the materials and then executing a project that large will take awhile. Unless they deconstruct one of the houses, finding materials will become difficult.

"Maybe we should, after the winter."
