This morning, our intrepid villagers awoke to a surprise of the nicer kind: A bundle of clothing left at the foot of their bed, tied with a bow. There is also a note: Put on your new outfit and join the festivities in the corn field next to the inn.

You may be thinking, what corn field next to the inn? The one that sprung up fully-mature overnight, of course.

In the middle of the field, villagers will find an autumn feast: Tables piled with harvest time food and drink, warm and rustic decorations, the day's sunshine fending off any chill in the air.

Tuck in and enjoy, villagers, but take note: Things often look different in the dark, and you might be one of them.

"Pretty sure no one's going to come at you, Wurst." Tony cocks his head to the side, causing the alien head strapped to the top of his to exaggerate the motion. "Everyone's too busy trying to figure out 'what the fuck' RE our costumes."

Still. It's a step and a half, a turn, putting himself between Frank and the bulk of the party- something he'd do for Rhodey before Afghanistan in galas and shit. Something Rhodey refused for him to handle afterward, the paranoid ass.

"And- you're welcome. She asked, I delivered. I expect a decent suit out of it."

He nods once, trying to focus on Tony instead of whatever could sneak up on him. Logically, he knows it isn't likely anything will, but he'd still like to go before anything even weirder happens. "Yeah... have to say that's a first." Though he had found an outfit on his bed that morning which was creepy and weird, too, but also not that much of a stretch for this place. He lifts his eyebrows. "A suit, huh?" Frank doesn't think he'll be able to find materials for something that nice, unless Tony wants to handle that part. He's also never tailored something that complicated from scratch, he figures he's on 'making-cute-dresses-out-of-scrubs' duty pretty much forever now. But he does owe Tony, so. "I'll see what I can do."

"Or a shirt or, whatever. I'm not picky." He is, he very much is but they've got limited resources all around. His vanity can, honestly, wait. For once. "No rush on that particular order."

It's slow, reaching out to pat Frank's shoulder- for balance, for the fact that his hand has talons, and Frank's pretty high strung on the best of days. No reason to poke the bear of he can help it.

"That's more like it. Favorite color?"

Frank glances at the clawed hand as it closes around his shoulder. It's somehow reassuring.

"Hot rod red, you have to ask?" It's his branded color for a reason. "I got Stephanie some mineral dyes, I'll see if I can't dig up a few more for you and Kamala."

[oorah]

He snorts. "No need. Just had a few friends of mine turn up, and what do you know? With red scrubs. I'm sure I can persuade 'em to part with them for Iron Man."

[nonstopnarcissist]

"A little more literal here than back home." He crackles a quiet laugh. "But if the sway of celebrity will work by all means, lean into it."

[oorah]

"It's more like scrubs aren't really their style, but same dif." God, he really needs to stop picking up Kamala's speech patterns, like, yesterday. "You, uh. Enjoy the rest of the - party." If that's what it is.

[nonstopnarcissist]

"Enjoy a quiet night walking dogs. Want me to try and save you a bottle of anything?" He can make a mental note to snag something before the night's over.

[oorah]

He tips his head and opens his coat so Tony can see the bottle he already yoinked from the party. Be cool, man!! Don't narc, etc etc. "Thanks anyway." Frank goes a little wide-eyed. He's going to bail now, OK?
