[MINGLE] Saints & Sinners Masquerade

WHERE: Corn field next to the inn
WHEN: 31 October, all day and night
OPEN TO: ALL - MINGLE
WARNINGS: Please warn as appropriate in your subject lines
NOTES: Please make sure you have read and understand the event details! If you have questions, drop them here. RECOMMENDED BUT NOT REQUIRED: Put your SCRUBS COLOR in your OTA subject line for folks doing bingo. Time your OTA for the harvest feast, the masquerade, or both. Costume matches and details for folks who did not get matched are here.

This morning, our intrepid villagers awoke to a surprise of the nicer kind: A bundle of clothing left at the foot of their bed, tied with a bow. There is also a note: Put on your new outfit and join the festivities in the corn field next to the inn.

You may be thinking, what corn field next to the inn? The one that sprung up fully-mature overnight, of course.

In the middle of the field, villagers will find an autumn feast: Tables piled with harvest time food and drink, warm and rustic decorations, the day's sunshine fending off any chill in the air.

Tuck in and enjoy, villagers, but take note: Things often look different in the dark, and you might be one of them.

"It wasn't that sort of relationship." Not with him, anyway, but with his wife, now that's a different story. "This is someone's way of telling me that I should have given up on that quest sooner than I did."

She cants her head to the side to look at the crocodile positioned against his arse with a look that says that while he might not have thought it was, someone clearly did. "Well, it's certainly a message," she agrees, lifting her glass to him.

"And certainly one that deserve a drink for surviving. Come on, what say you find something and you can tell me if you know what I'm supposed to be?"

Finding something is easy. He knows right where the rum is. Of course he does. Once he's got a glass full, he returns to considering her question. "You look a bit like Wendy."

"I'm sorry, who?" Peggy's first instinct is confusion, but she quickly remembers the play itself and then it clicks. "Wait, Wendy Darling? Really? I thought she was meant to be clad in a nightgown and this simply looks like a very drably designed dress."

With no intention to be insulting, of course, but it really does look that way.

"She was. It looked a bit like that one." In the way that what he's wearing now looks like what he wore then, anyway. Close enough to get the point across but not fully accurate.

"Besides, details change a bit in the telling of the story."

Peggy lifts up the hem of the skirt again, a touch wary, and now she looks at Killian anew, because she'd thought it something else. Now that she has more information, it's really only prompted more questions. "If this is something that you know, is there anyone else's costume here at this party you recognize?"

After all, it does seem odd that she's dressed as someone he knew personally, right down to the fashion choices.
