The urgent warnings come from villagers returning south from the lake: a creature twice the size of a man, antlered and voracious. Larger than any they've seen on the plains, stalking its way to the main village. Some might have their own names for this hunger in a skin of shadow; others might remember that it was the first to claim a life, in their village's short history.
Whatever context one has for it, best to secure all pets and loved ones before it arrives. With weapons and food stores at the inn, the call goes out to gather — And to bring back any tools, because there's no telling what doors and windows can do to stop such a creature.

He continued picking up large pieces of debris without breaking a sweat or a note in his response. "I'm from New York but I spent the last fifteen years in K'un-Lun, training with the monks." He had to pause his story to toss some more of the wood outside before returning to where Kamala was sweeping. "I can train you, if you want to learn but you need to tell me what you mean." Danny didn't look like much but he was built with lean strong muscle. He was used to being faster than his opponents as well as using his opponent's strength against them. It was the kind of fighting that Kamala would be able to take too and use, even when her enemy was twice her size.
There was more to what Danny was willing to tell her but he paused, testing the waters and trying to see if this was a hopeless cause. Most teenagers didn't have the respect or discipline to be trained properly. Of course, he'd never train anyone the way that he learned since it bordered on abuse.

"I'm from Jersey City." A reflex at this point. You can't not rep your city. That's all the delay she gives. Danny's advice, fortune cookie or not, is solid. If he can help her reclaim something of who she was it'll be worth it. If nothing else her roommate is terrifying back up against all creeps. She is not getting that impression from Danny though.
"I guess a long time ago an alien race called the Kree tried to turn human beings into weapons. They were kind of big on tampering with genetics. Something happened and they just left their experiments on Earth along with what they needed to... activate them." Kamala grimaces. Medusa never gave her the whole story, but despite all appearances she's a bright girl. She's filled in the blanks. She's positive she's right about this: Inhumans were always meant to be weapons. That's their genetic legacy.
"My ancestors were one of the people experimented on and due to a crazy accident I got exposed to the stuff that turned on the stuff they put inside of us along with a lot of other people." This is the point where she stops sweeping. "It made me powerful... like Hulk powerful. Or Ant-Man. Or Wolverine. Or... I've got a lot of superpowers is what I'm trying to say." She's losing focus. Kamala quickly clarifies. "I didn't go crazy or anything. I just used it to protect people from all the crazy stuff that started showing up afterward. I mean I'd be kind of a jerk if I got all this power and let some psycho kidnap and experiment on kids, right? Long story, but I won so don't worry about the story ending in dead kids. My point is something is blocking me from accessing that power. That's why it's complicated and I'm kind of insecure about it."
Kamala finally stops to breathe, but only long enough to have enough oxygen tack this on: "Oh and sorry for taking my stuff out on you. I shouldn't be rude when you're clearly trying to help."

"I'm the Ironfist. Protector and warrior of K'un-Lun but I haven't been able to access that power since I arrived here." He's tried to find his center and call the power of the dragon but he hadn't had any luck.
"I don't know how it's happened but not having power shouldn't make you weak." He paused before leaning forward and picking up another piece of debris. "Do you train here?"

He shook his head, running his palm though his thick curls. "That isn't training." That would help with her stamina but it wouldn't help her in the long run. "What you need is inner strength. It'll help you when you have your powers back too. I can teach you but I'll be hard. Are you up for it?" She could always say no, it was a choice, but he thought that he could help her.
"If you want." He added a little awkwardly as he picked up the last large piece of wood.

"I'm looking for a space here. Maybe turn a house into a Dojo. When I do, I'll contact you. If you'd like to meet before then, tell me when and we can start lessons near the river." Danny found it a quiet place where people didn't walk by enough to be a distraction.
