The sky seemed bright as day now, even when Thor knew it must be night and he wondered how, exactly, such a thing was occurring. He had seen what men called the Northern Lights before on many occasions and while this was no shocking thing, the brightness of them and the sudden appearance of them in their village was shocking. What had brought them on? Were their captors toying with them yet again? As days went on, Thor was less and less convinced that his brother was behind such a trick and that someone else held them here. Something else was behind this, that was evident.
Still, he had little desire to think of that now. It was near to supper time and it was still bright as noon, the play of pinks and blues and greens across the sky a beautiful thing to behold. It had become commonplace over the last few weeks but it still caught his eye, still arrested him and caused him to stop what he was doing and simply watch for a while and it was in one of these moments that he decided to go back into the house he shared with Annie and called for her, wanting to share the moment with her.
"Annie, come look! The lights are bright tonight. You cannot even see the stars any longer."
