The Blacksmith and the artist reflect it in their art they forge their creativity

WHO: Leonardo da Vinci
WHERE: Various places
WHEN: Through March 21st, powers from 13th-20th
OPEN TO: OTA, DID YOU ASK FOR A WEAPON, COME TO HIM
WARNINGS: Nothing for now, will update if necessary!

March 1st-21st, Weapons and Such!

Leonardo will have quietly informed people who requested weapons of him that they are done through March! The Assassins in particular will be privately reached out to about the hidden blades and told to come pick them up. After those particular requests are fulfilled, Leonardo will put a little wooden sword out front of the forge pointing inside, and put it out there in the public knowledge that blades can be found inside.

His forge is fairly scattered as Leonardo himself is always working on about ten projects at the same time. There's wood stockpiled along with his steel and iron, and there's a row of a few knives and a few swords to the side. The artist is almost always there, day and night, or he is out front finishing up the boat to the bunker pod. It's a rather simple looking place for now, outside of flowers that have been drawn in charcoal on the wall.

[you can assume that your character requested something before and wants to pick it up now, or you can just IC from now on assume that your character has the item they want!]

March 13th-20th, Powers Abound

Leonardo cannot help his curiosity when he realizes there are powers that people can just pick up. As someone who has only recently gotten comfortable with his own, he's fascinated. He spends a great deal of time thinking about what he wants, and resolves to try all of them eventually. For now though, he goes with what he's been longing for: warmth! Certain that it is too dangerous to try them in the bunker, he travels back to the village and goes a safe distance away to test them out.

The first two days are not great. He can't seem to get the fire to stop being on his fingertips, and he accidentally shoots fire near a tree, but it doesn't set fire, which is good as he would start to panic. Instead it hits rocks, so phew. As the week progresses he gains more control of it and can be seen playfully making patterns in the sky with the flames, especially late at night where he can be seen like a beacon,

It's late into the night that Jacob makes his way to the north village, seeking out Leonardo and the forge there. He left his gauntlets there before he had been snatched up, and is excited to actually have all the things he's missing. Except for Evie.

Except there is a distraction in that trek. The sight of fire along the sky. Fire that forms shapes and lights up the sky. Changing his direction, heading for the fire.

"Dear Lord in Heaven, tell me we do't have ice mice again," he growls, remembering the damage they had caused. Except it's apparently not mice, just a man enjoying himself.

Which is exactly what Jacob had done when he'd first arrived with that ability. Shit. It might be mice.

"Leonardo?"

Jacob's gaze is no longer seeking out Leonardo, much more caught up on the ship above him, all burning and brilliant light and as elegant as any a ship he's seen on water. It's amazing to see. Much more technical and thoughtout than the pyre he'd made with the same power.

"So this isn't what they gave you when you came here?" He's heard of the machine, but not felt secure enough to use it without fearing it a templar trick. Or worse, that he might become smitten with using the ability and give too much for it if they ever came asking a price.

It's hard enough living without his abilities, the special powers he's had as long as he can remember. A child able to kill who had grown into a man that did what he must to protect others. Finding himself without his super power, as well as not having a suitcase full of precision weighted knives, is taking its toll on Diego.

Some had mentioned a forge to the north, and without much else to do, he started the hike upwards to the other village to see if it is true and he can at least solve one of the problems.

Entering the forge, he pauses to let his eyes adjust. "Hello? Anyone here?"

[personal profile] excessed 2019-03-19 09:05 pm (UTC)(link)
It's certainly not the greeting he expects, though Diego shrugs and then nods. "Sure, that was kind of my line when I came in but I'm more than willing to help out before I basically beg you for help. So sure," he says with what is nearly a smile.

Then the request is made and Diego breaks out into a full fledged grin. "It'll be my pleasure," he says, stepping in to take up the knife. He holds it for a moment, turning it this way and that as he looks at it before he begins to back away.

He moves suddenly, swift slices and spins, giving the knife a toss and and catching it by the handle to make another slashing thrust. There's an easy grace despite the loss of his ability, enjoying the moment that left him feeling a bit as if he was still himself.

"It's got a beautiful weight, and the handle is made for the curve of fingers and palm," he says with a nod. "If it is being used with a possibility for chopping, I would leave it just as it is. If it was going to be used for throwing or merely in combat? You could maybe lessen the spine a bit, or add a fuller, but it wouldn't be as stable for chopping then, would it?"

If Rosa could've teleported herself to the location given in order to get her weapons faster, she would've. Of course, no such abilities have been given to her (not yet, anyway), so she has to do it the old-fashioned way: walking. Walking quickly. She doesn't quite break out into a Holt Power Walk (the most energy-efficient method of movement, according to him), but it's close enough. If she didn't think it'd look desperate as fuck, she'd run.

She gets to the forge soon enough, and before long, she's practically barging her way in. She hasn't set foot in the place before now, and as she opens her mouth to say something (likely demand her weapon(s) from Leonardo), she stops herself to do a quick scan of the place. It's what she'd expect, given its title of "forge." Nothing overtly interests her, so she's hastily making her way towards the Father of Invention.

"Leo! Hey! I got your message. What d'you got?"

News had spread that the forge in North Village had opened up with a new forge master, one quite willing to provide weapons to those who asked. Initially Seifer had chosen to bypass the offer, he respected Tony's reasoning behind his refusal. However, in light of two kidnappings and far too many fox attacks it's become quite clear that the relative safety of this place was only that.

Relative.

And he really didn't like getting caught out with his hands tied. So he was going to come see what this Leonardo guy had to offer. A simple sword would do, he knew there wasn't going to be anyone able to make a gunblade here. After arriving he rapped his knuckles loudly on the door as he let himself inside, eyes scanning for the lone smith. "Hey! Anybody home?"

Leonardo certainly didn't fit the image Seifer had in his head of a blacksmith. Usually expected them to be gruff and grizzled, like an old soldier or someone who always wanted to be one but made the weapons instead. This guy seemed... Warm. A stark contrast to his expectations, which left him silenced for a moment while he took in the figure before him.

Well, if the man was skilled he wasn't going to complain one way or another. "Hey," A pause, still trying to get his bearings. Unaccustomed to such energetic and friendly greetings. "Er, Seifer. Seifer Almasy. You're the new smith in town, yeah?" Leonardo had thrown him so off his footing he initially forgot what he was there for. "I heard you're willing to make weapons," Which, upon glancing over he definitely noticed the stock which he nodded at. "What d'you charge for a sword?"

It seems that Kalen and Seifer had the same idea. Kalen did not know much about this place but what he was finding out he did not like. Kidnapping alone was a good reason to be armed but Kalen still felt wary of the people around him since they were always there. He had not explored the North Village yet but the promise of finding a possible weapon meant he was quick to start.

Still dressed in the magenta scrubs and coat, Kalen cautiously made his way inside. He did not like the idea of the yelling in an unknown area but he did not want anyone to think he was sneaking up on them. Temporizing in his tone he called out;

"Are you open for business?"

Kalen shook his head a little.

"I am only looking for a well-balanced sword."

As far as this place went it was almost boring. Kalen gravitated toward the blades that were already offered on display.

"They aren't making blades at all at the Blacksmith in South Village. My guess is that you are going to get a lot of business."

He really was creative, Alistair thought as he watched Leonardo painting the sky with fire. Of course, the only issue was that fire tended to... well. Burn. And that was why he was coming up, hoping to keep an eye on things. Not that he didn't have confidence in Leo - he did. He just also knew fire was its own beast with its own ideas and there was still enough Templar in him to want to make sure magic stuff didn't go too far.

Even if just the thought of that made him stop mid-step. He hated late-occurring realisations. He really did. Damn it, Sereda.

But he shook his head, pulling himself out of it, and cleared his throat before asking, "Having fun?" with a smile on his face. Leonardo made him happy, even if memories weren't pleasant.

The smile became all the more real with that greeting. And, after a light laugh, he reached to pull Leonardo into a hug, and to kiss his forehead warmly. "It's funny, isn't it. Or, I mean. To me, it is - how I'll be doing something completely unrelated, and I'll think of you and..."

Alistair shook his head at himself, smile remaining as he looked to Leonardo's eyes. "You just. Pop into my head all the time. Even when all I'm doing is prospecting the trees. But that's beside the point. I promise you don't have to make a dragon for me. I'm quite happy with cats and rabbits. They have smaller teeth."

It's curiosity, really, that has Brigitte making the trek out to the northern village for the very first time.

Once she started thinking about it, she'd realised how absurd it was that she'd hiked south to the farm but had never even been to their village mirror in the north. But Maine and Wash live out here, and he'd told her that there was a second forge in operation now -- so she's come out to take a peek at it, and see how it differs from Tony's domain and her other home-away-from-home. So she stands outside, boot scuffing in the dirt as she admires the partly-finished boat for a while (remembering fishing trips back home, summer boat parties right off the coast of Gothenburg), before venturing inside.

The charcoal flowers are a nice touch, and they make a smile bloom on her face.

"Hello?"

The day has come to collect her new toys. Elektra couldn't be more pleased about it. She saunters up in a clearly good mood from the playful smile on her face and bounce in her step as she approaches. She finds a safe place to lean on as she greets Leonardo. "How is my new best friend doing?" She claps her hands together. "You have no idea how happy you've made me."

North's runs means he ends up in the Northern Village a bit. Needing to avoid the place he's determined Wash and Maine live means that his path definitely gets a bit unpredictable at times. It does mean that he gets to run past the blacksmith and there he can't help the flush of Theta's pleasure that runs through him at seeing Leonardo.

"Morning," he calls out, slowing his pace to come to a stop by Leonardo, taking a moment to catch his breath. "What you working on?"

Bread with Malik has become a thing, something Nida needed to clear his head. Of course that didn't mean he felt like the first thing he had to do after his now nearly-daily attempts to quell his pain with kneading bread was to walk home. Still, there is something he knows he has to do, even if it's a bit late. After all, whether Leonardo knows it or not, the boar-spear had been useful before Nida had left.

Plus this was a forge he could walk into without feeling awkward. He stepped into the heat and warmth of the building and let his eyes look over the space as he waits for sign of the weaponsmith.

"Leonardo?" he calls out. "Where are you?"

Flames in the sky bring Reeve out, a soft smile on his face. While he doesn't know exactly who is causing the show, he is still drawn to it. Sure, it takes a while for him to get there with his leg still healing. When he got close, though, he smiled and called up his own flames, heating them to an intense, blue-heat light, before sending the flames up to twist and dance through Leonardo's.

And with a smile he approaches his friend, an extra tongue of fire hanging near his head to serve as light.

"Seems you've grown to appreciate a bit of what I've been enjoying."

Much as Loki had been curious about the North Village and had every intention of coming to see for himself if anything of interest had made its home there, he knows the true reason for his sudden motivation to make the trip. The knives he's taken from the communal storage were certainly better than nothing at all while he waited for Stark to make good on his end of their agreement, one could never truly have too many weapons at their disposal and when he'd seen the message from Leonardo cross the network--

He'd been suspicious that anyone would make such an offer without attaching any strings to it, of course, but that would be a bridge he'd find a way around crossing when necessary. He'd be foolish to pass up the opportunity to get the measure of a man who would put out a call to arm strangers so unhesitatingly, especially if Loki stood to make himself a useful ally. If things in this place continue as they have, Loki thinks he may need more than just a few throwing knives.

The forge is as Loki expects, which is to say that it's nothing short of what he assumes is a study in organized chaos. Loki has no skill for this kind of work himself but it isn't beyond him to appreciate the finished product from those who do. The process, however?

Decidedly not suited to his preferences.

He's brought the wood he promised upon their conversation over the network, a neat bundle wrapped in twine that he sets near the stockpile the forge has already amassed, and Loki takes a moment, surveying the various piles of what he can only assume are materials to be crafted into something useful, the scattered tools, the finished weapons and the flowers drawn on the wall, before raising his voice enough to carry to wherever the man may be hiding, "I hope this isn't a poor time."
