This morning, our intrepid villagers awoke to a surprise of the nicer kind: A bundle of clothing left at the foot of their bed, tied with a bow. There is also a note: Put on your new outfit and join the festivities in the corn field next to the inn.

You may be thinking, what corn field next to the inn? The one that sprung up fully-mature overnight, of course.

In the middle of the field, villagers will find an autumn feast: Tables piled with harvest time food and drink, warm and rustic decorations, the day's sunshine fending off any chill in the air.

Tuck in and enjoy, villagers, but take note: Things often look different in the dark, and you might be one of them.

"Ripley's the heroine." Having Peter dressed like that would make sense, he's almost certain that's the kids' costume. "No? I left that to dear old dad, I'm an avid fan of film but know better than to do more than donate money to the cause."

Back a few interesting projects, he hasn't done that in awhile, nothing's come up that he or Pepper felt equipped to finance.

"His cowboy pictures were always rather dreadful, from watching him shoot them," Peggy offers her opinion as she reaches up, still careful to make sure that she steadies Tony from toppling over, not wanting him to cause any sort of damage or also hurt himself.

"Is it all movies then? Is that the theme?" she wonders, glancing around at the costumes that seems to have ensnared plenty of the people here.

"I don't think I ever saw them." He locked up a lot of who he was aside from being a businessman from Tony. Maybe he might've had a chance to get to know him if he'd lived or-

Nope, shaking that off. Past is past, they're rolling forward.

"Maybe? I haven't put my finger on the pattern, but there is some kind of pattern. A method to the madness."

Peggy's not entirely sure that she recognizes half of the costumes, which might be why she's failing to pick up on the pattern. At least she hasn't been put in anything truly ironic, because she'll take the dress she's wearing over suddenly having to wear the Captain America suit.

"Well, if you want any help climbing out of that, I am right here," she says, feeling like that's an offer that won't go amiss. At least, she'd like it if she were the one stuck.

"I'll come find you if the clock strikes midnight and I don't turn into a pumpkin." It has to be some kind of time delay, maybe? He's not sure, can't quite place it, but he's grateful for the offer all the same.
