February 5th-10th

The aftermath of reliving one of her worst moments stays on her like a cloud overhanging her usual sunny disposition. Rinoa was quiet most of the walk back, staying with the others and not talking about what happened even when pressed. When she did get back, she crashed in her room for two days snuggling with Julia ... without her gloves for once. It was a temporary reprieve.

She's not sleeping and there are circles under her eyes, but there's still fire in them, and Rinoa likes to keep busy. She's been convinced to jog more, which she can be seen attempting to do in the morning, and she helps out at the inn cleaning, and she can be seen on her porch knitting on some of the nicer weather days.

February 11th - Color Change

Rinoa is on her way to the schoolhouse when her device makes a sudden beep. She pauses right in her spot, staring at it, because the last time this happened she saw a glimpse of what was coming. Dread wallows in her stomach, and it oddly glitches out, goes blue, and then abruptly comes back to life.

Confused, she glances up and around, and by the time she looks down, the strangest thing has happened. Her once light gray band is now red, and she scrunches up her face at it. "What in the world ...."

Feb 12th-20th - Red Rinoa!

After the color change happens, it takes her at least a day to realize it's not the color only that's changed. In some ways, it's good. Her head isn't hanging, there isn't a weight on her shoulders. She's actually walking around confidently, moving with purpose. She can be seen punching the air/working out at the dojo, exploring the north village, and even daring to go skinny dipping in the hot springs for the first time.

WHO: Vasquez
WHERE: South Village, River
WHEN: February 7
OPEN TO: All!
WARNINGS: n/a

If anyone had seen Vasquez when he'd been a wolf, it's only poetic justice that all of this is happening to him now.

Where before, he'd been the one to roam wild, not he's the one running. He'd opened the box in the north village, but almost instantly, the dog had been spooked by the kirin and had taken off, running and yipping (and probably terrified down to his little bones). He'd had a terrible moment of debating whether he should go after it before deciding that there were too many cruel things living in the shadows and no animal should be left to that.

Of course, what he didn't count on was how much of a fool he was going to look chasing after it, whistling after an animal that didn't even have a name. It's a good looking animal, one that he's seen herd sheep before, but running away like this means now Vasquez is the shepherd. He's already run back to the south village from the north and he looks it, panting and coughing (he really wants a smoke, too, but it's not the time).

He sees his chance when the animal is lapping up water at the stream. Chest heaving, he begins to creep up on it, ready to take his chance. He hunches over and tries to get all six-foot-four of him as close to the ground as he can, advancing until he's nearly on his knees. He readies himself, like a coil, and waits to spring forward.

Of course, his little dog decides he's all done with drinking, bounding away with a yip, right as Vasquez goes face-down into the stream, muttering and cursing. Sitting back, he swipes at his face and spits to the side, cursing in Spanish as he glares at the dog.

"You know, I could feed you to the kirin," he warns, even as the animal comes licking his cheek, like he's rubbing Vasquez's face in his idiocy. "Or the boar. Or any of the other animals."

February 8-12th

Bruce may have been thrown off by the ordeal, but in general it was the trip back that really made him struggle. It reminds him of when he was on the run and even slightly younger, it was easier then, but now he's grown soft. It means that he can actually be seen attempting to jog although he's not very good at it. There's more stretching than running. Don't laugh at him (you can laugh at him). There's more silver in his hair for sure, but that's how these things go.

He seems to be very focused in the schoolhouse on making notes, specifically if the papers are seen it has speculation about blood and powers. He has a list of names of people he thinks wouldn't mind him asking for samples, and a list of supplies that will make it easier for him to run the tests in question. This is a project he and Sam have been thinking about for awhile, and he's pretty close to launching it officially.

Outside the dojo he will be attempting to purposely set off his powers, and it's his own hesitance keeping him from it.

February 13th-20th, color change!

Bruce did know that unexpectedly some wristbands were changing and people were reporting some other changes because of it. So it was always a possibility. It isn't until his own beeps and morphs into a shiny yellow band that he blinks and waits for the lasting effect. It comes pretty much immediately because he feels energetic and the opposite of his normal wary and hesitant behavior.

Instead he wanders the village with a smile and warmer greetings, and he voluntarily sits down to eat with people he doesn't ordinarily. Bruce walks farther than usual past the village boundary just to see what's out there. He also might grab someone to test out the yellow power.
