[MINGLE] Wendi-go-go to the inn

WHERE: 6I Village and Inn
WHEN: 27-31 July
OPEN TO: ALL - Mingle
NOTES: The Wendigo threatening the village will be killed mid 28 July, with a Blue Lily, per these threads. Plot details here. Note: The final fight is close enough to be seen from the upstairs inn windows.
WARNINGS: Wendigo attack mingle, please warn in comment headers if discussing violence, gore, or related trauma. Possible mentions of character death.

The urgent warnings come from villagers returning south from the lake: a creature twice the size of a man, antlered and voracious. Larger than any they've seen on the plains, stalking its way to the main village. Some might have their own names for this hunger in a skin of shadow; others might remember that it was the first to claim a life, in their village's short history.

Whatever context one has for it, best to secure all pets and loved ones before it arrives. With weapons and food stores at the inn, the call goes out to gather — And to bring back any tools, because there's no telling what doors and windows can do to stop such a creature.

"Yeah. No point of dying when there is stuff to do." It was hard to tell if he was joking or being serious. His tone didn't change but he sounded stubborn and almost annoyed at the thought of dying. It was in poor taste but Danny had a lot on his mind after everything that had happened and he wasn't thinking about it.

He held still as she reached around him and began to collect the pieces of cloth that had shifted and torn. Danny was used to pain but he still hissed whenever she brushed against a tender section of flesh.

He waited until she was done before speaking in a softer voice. "I'll be doing less tomorrow." Not out of need or desire but because he was going to head into the woods and meditate. He needed to clear his thoughts and he couldn't do it at the inn right now.

"If only it were that simple." Though joking about death felt strained at the moment. It brought her thoughts back once more to the young man that had given his life in the fight. According to others in the village, this was not the first time someone was killed here, yet it seemed to hit them all as though it were the first.

She was careful in her movements, but even with her gentleness, it still seemed to make him flinch. Once the bindings were removed, she reapplied the salve to his wounds, careful to keep from hurting him further.

"It isn't out of concern for me, I imagine. What do you intend to do? You don't seem to be a man to remain idle." She wouldn't complain at his plans. Whatever kept him still and allowed the medicine to do its work.

"I'm going to turn one of the houses into a Dojo." His voice was soft as she worked, his head bent forward as he answered her.

Danny didn't want to think about death. Even if it was someone he hadn't known he felt it like a heavy weight upon his shoulders. He was the Immortal Ironfist, a living weapon, and he couldn't do anything in that fight except get himself hurt while defeating the back part of the inn. It'd been stupid, he should have been able to help.

"I have others interested in learning and fighting is all I'm really good at." He could do other things and had other talents but the world was never as clear as it was when he was fighting.
