[who let the dogs out?]

WHO: Major Lilywhite
WHERE: Major/Ravi's cabin, around the village
WHEN: Mid-October
OPEN TO: All, specific starter for Ravi
WARNINGS: PUPPIES.

Major had been lured outside by the sound of whimpering. Every ounce of softness and kindness he'd ever held in his body had been tingling like a small fire, spreading over the expanse of his body from head to toe at the sound. When he had opened the door, two boxes were sitting side-by-side on the porch - one about half the size of the other and, to his surprise, moving around like one of those fake ferret toys for cats, the kind that's glued to a mechanical ball that moves around.

Only a little less erratic.

He took the stationary box in first, setting it off to the side of the living room, before returning to get the one that had now seemed to calm down a little bit. As he lifted it, there was a quiet yelp from the inside, and Major knew in an instant what the mystery box's contents were, without having to remove the lid.

He sets the box down in the middle of the living room, carefully lifting up the cover to reveal the small, Basset Hound puppy gazing up at him inside. At the sight of his face, it lets out another yelp, this one happier but still pleading, and tries to stand on its hind legs to see outside the open top of the box. It doesn't quite have the hang of what it means to be coordinated yet, and so it tumbles backwards, causing a very loud "AWW!!" to come rushing out of Major's mouth.

He reaches inside, carefully scooping the puppy up in his arms. Once near enough, it begins to lick his face and squirm around in his grip. As Major's trying to check the box for any other dog-related items, the puppy manages to wiggle its way out of his arms and, before he can manage to do anything to stop it, runs straight out of the door that Major's foolishly left open by mistake.

He opens his mouth to shout a name, but realizes he doesn't have one at the ready, so he shouts the only thing he can think of:

"HEY! ... HEY YOU! COME BACK!" as he scrambles to his feet and out the door, chasing after the bounding, long-eared puppy.

"It's not always a bad thing." She remarked before turning her attention back to the puppy. He was panting happily and beginning to wiggle in Clary's arms. She might not be able to hold him forever but she'll make it to Major's house before she sets him down. No point of catching the pup if she can't return him home. "You should. They have luck every ... lunch." Who could resist the call of food?

"No."

Clary's expression and tone fell instantly. "I don't have a roommate." She had one until they vanished. "If you want to meet people just hang out there. There are people there all the time." It was a little annoying at times but Clary also liked it. It kept her mind from wandering.

"Yeah." Clary agreed though it wasn't obvious that she was paying attention to what Major was saying. There was a lot going through her mind right now and she didn't want to think about 75% of it. Right now she wanted to focus on the puppy in her arms.

"You'll also get feed." Which Clary guessed was something that Major might need help with. He looked a little too soft to be on his own in a survival setting.

Clary laughed and shook her head. "Why would I think you were too skinny. I didn't even think that was a thing." At least not with people like Major who obviously worked out all the time.

"Already?" She looked up at the house and then down at the basset hound in her arms. "I'll miss you but don't worry. I'll have Ravi and Major let me visit. Ravi's a chicken and I bet Major is a push over even though he's all muscly. Yes he is. Yes he is." Clary was baby talking to the puppy.

"That sounds like a lot of work." Clary looked up at Major as if he was spouting nonsense. "I also happen to love food. I don't think I'd survive without hamburgers in my life." She knew that some girls starved themselves but Clary never saw the point. Like any woman in today's society, she knew how to put herself down. She felt thin and scraggly, delicate was the word for it but also weak and frail. It helped that he best friend was male, she didn't have anyone to compare herself too and Simon would offer her little compliments when it looked like she was feeling down.

Ravi had made a point to remind Clary that he was the world's largest chicken. In fact, it came up multiple times after she had offered to be his body guard for a short trip into the other village.

Clary looked up at Major with a grin. "So not the important stuff." She gave Minor one last belly scratch before passing over the pup to Major. "You'll see me again. Probably at lunch if you start going to the inn." She lifted her hand in a brief wave before turning to head back to her practice.
