Des and Bull had taken some time to find the right spot for their new brewery, but Des had been right, The inn in the North Village proved to be the best place for it. It was big enough that they could really get things going and provide an actual tavern atmosphere to the place. Now they were getting things set up there. A stockroom starting to be filled with the supplies Bull had already gotten, the kitchen filled with their equipment and one of the rooms commandeered for a fermenting room., keeping the temperature in there a little warmer than the rest of the place.

[For Des]
After they had gotten the stuff up there and squered away Bull stands in the middle of the kitchen and looks around. "Not a bad choice at all. I think we can make this into a really good place, a proper tavern. We just need to get brewing on a big scale for that." He grins at Des "You're down for helping me grow hops and barley in the summer? I don't want to rely on the gifts"

[For Thor (or Loki if he wants to be the one answering the door)]
After Bull's gotten settled and seen how the whole place functions he figures it might not be a bad idea to consolidate the brewing that is going on in the village. So he heads to Thor's house, knocking on the door. "You in there, Thor?"

[Patrols, OTA]
Not even a brand new brewery is going to stop Bull from preforming his duty as one of the guys leading patrol, so he shows up every day, bright and early. He even puts a note up in the South inn that people who want to join can meet up and get paired with someone else who does the patrol as well. There are a few routes he likes to take. Around each of the villages, checking on the fountain and the road between, and then also making sure they have plans for defense of the villages. You can pretty much always approach him with that.

When Bull wakes up the morning of the 21st he feels good, though slightly different. And like he is in the mood for something different. Maybe he should experiment some with the beer today. They had recently gotten new supplies. What if he changed up some of the ratios.

It wasn't until around lunch time, after the beer had been started that he realizes what has caused it. His band had changed color to violet. Damn. Once he sits down at the lunch table at the inn he looks around, trying to spot people with the same band color, once he spots them, he shows them his. "Got a surprise this morning."

"Most people just call me Bull, but the article is supposed to be a part of it. I chose it specifically because it makes me sound like a thing, a weapon. My kind don't really have names, we go by what we do."

Bull smiles. "I could see that. It is nice and quiet up here."

"Sounds... familiar." Sort of. Take away someone's name and give them a new one. Give them a rank instead of a name. Makes you into something different than you were. "Agent Washington is... the name I was given by a specific military project."

Not quite the same but close enough.

"Yeah. Easier to defend too."

"True but we are building fortifications down there, that is always worth knowing about if nothing else." Bull had been there for the attack that claimed Peeta's life. It hadn't been good.

And the name might be closer than Wash suspects. "Yeah, The Iron Bull is one I gave myself as a cover when I went to the human lands. Before that I was Hissrad."

"Doesn't seem to stop huge swathes of the population getting kidnapped," Wash said dryly. He was getting the impression that nothing would stop that. Still, it's good to know someone else is thinking about that kind of thing.

"Very familiar. Military loves their code names." He knows why in his case. Make it harder to find them, keep things off the record. No-one is going to be looking for Agent Washington.

"No, but it might stop monsters from attacking. There was one right after I came here, it was not good at all."

Bull shakes his head. Then focuses on the next bit with a bit of a smile. "Yeah? What part of the military?"

"What kind of monsters?" Sangheili? If they're here, he can't imagine that wood and stone defences are gonna do much. Better to figure out what they're up against now.

"UNSC marine. Used to be. Ended up in special projects."

"Wendigo I think they called it. Besides we gave a lot of things in the woods." Bull smiles and nods. "I'll admit that doesn't mean much to me, but then again I suspect Ben-hassrath doesn't mean much to you. One of the downsides of coming from different worlds."

Probably not Sangheili then. Although who knows what kind of weird names they've given them on different worlds. He'll just have to keep his eyes open.

"Not a thing," he admits. "United Nations Space Command. The UNSC."

"Space.. as in?" He gestures up towards the sky. "Damn, that is... how do you do that?" He looks rather impressed at that

Wash nods. "Yeah. And... space ships. We have spaceships." He isn't sure how to explain it to someone who is from a place that doesn't have space travel at all. "Originally they got launched from planets with lots of explosive fuel, but that was hundreds of years ago."

Bull thinks about that for a moment and then he nods. It sounds dangerous but based on what he knows of how Gaatlok works he has no problem believing that it might actually work one day. "And there are many planets you travel between?"

Wash nods. "Hundreds. Hundreds of worlds. There used to be more colonies too."

But so many of them were gone now and Wash hadn't cared to keep up to date with exactly how many they'd lost during the war with the Covvies.

"Damn. That is... Unbelievable really. we have nothing like that in my world so ... " Bull looks suitably impressed. "You've been to many of them?"

"Yeah. Been to a lot of planets." Many of which didn't have populations anymore. "You travel around a lot when you're military."

"That is true. Same when you're Ben-Hassrath. I spent a decade on an island called Seheron and then another one in the human lands. Been travelling a lot there. And then.. here we are. wherever this is."

"Who the hell knows, really?" Wash says, a wry smile curling his lips. "We could be in a simulation, or a managed habitat for all we know."

Bull nods. He doesn't like the idea of that at all. "Mostly I think we just want to go home."

Home. He doesn't have one. "I'm not sure about that. I wouldn't care about going home. I just don't like being trapped."

What's he going to go back to? Prison?

"That I can agree with, heck it isn't even that bad here if it wasn't for the being trapped. Like if we were here by choice."

"It's not exactly where i'd choose to spend my vacation." That would be somewhere warm and luxurious with unending hot water and drinks. "But it's not as bad as it could be."

It isn't prison. it isn't Sidewinder. It isn't hospital.

"Tell me about it. I am from a jungle covered island. This is not as bad as where I was working before this but not too far from it. Skyhold was a fortress high up in snow-covered mountains. My nipples nearly froze off."

Wash grimaces. “Yeah, last thing before I got dragged here, I was in a place called Sidewinder. A freezing snowy hellscape.” With too many memories attached to it. But that’s just how a lot of places are these days, covered with a rime of memory.

“I take it you have trouble getting winter gear in your size?”

"Yeah, I have the stuff I came here with. But it is also that the horns make anything that goes over my head kind of a no-no. We have a phrase in Qunari for a being caught unprepared which translates to getting your shirt stuck on your horns. And besides, I worked for this body, might as well show it off, you know."

"I can definitely see how that would be a problem," Wash agrees, glancing up at the impressive horns on the guy's head. They were very intimidating and he wonders if they're painful. Aren't they heavy?

He give a soft snort- a half laugh. He has to admit, Bull is very impressively muscled. "Can't disagree with that."

"If you want to see more, let me know." Bull gives him a bit of a wink. "Anything with a lose enough collar does work it is just a lot more work. And I am usually places warm enough that it doesn't matter."
