New stuff brewing
WHO: The Iron Bull
WHERE: All around the village, Network, Schoolhouse
WHEN: October
OPEN TO: OTA, Starter for Phryne
WARNINGS: None so far will add more as they come
[Scoolhouse, OTA]
It was the idea of the wine book that had sent him here looking. Mostly for a book about brewing beer. There had to be that sort of information after all and a place like this was in desperate need of some good beer. So he makes his way to the schoolhouse and starts poking through the books in there. Eventually, he finds the book he is after as well as a few more and he settles down to read, making a few lists of what he'll need if he is to make beer.
[Network, OTA]
Does anyone have a big pot or two I could borrow, or know where I could get one made? And maybe some buckets or barrels. I am making beer.
[Then a little later]
I borrowed the book on beer brewing from the schoolhouse. It is at my place.
[Great minds for Phryne]
He doesn't expect to have anyone else in his head so at first, his thoughts are unfiltered as he heads back through the village. Storing the beer, could use the house, should be warm enough for it. - Who is that? Are they a danger? Oh wait, it's just them. All right, not a threat then.

He shrugs. "I didn't think so, but I actually was just proven wrong in my world. Before I came here, one of my friends teleported into a battle with a walking tree. But Alec's from another part of the multiverse."

"I'll hear around." He frowns a little. "What do you mean multiverse?"
no subject
"Oh, it's a concept that's been thrown around in our world for a long while now. The multiverse is the theory that there are many universes all existing at the same time, but possibly in different timelines and different planes of existence. On earth it's only focused on humanity, all the parallel or alternative universes that could exist where humanity still lives, but honestly, this place feeds more into a general 'anything goes' principle of multiple universes." Bruce used to love the multiverse as a concept, and now it was so very real. "And all the universes are connected in some way, which is why your world and mine and this one can all exist at the same time."

He listens to Bruce's explanation, nodding along. "That ... does make a lot of sense actually. It's like the Fade and the Waking world. Back where I am from we have these two worlds that exist together, separated by the Veil. One is the land of spirits and demons and the other one is the world for the rest of us."

His eyes light up with curiosity. "That's interesting. We've never been sure of an afterlife or if spirits are real. In the theory of the multiverse, there would be a world like ours that does have one. Or a version of a world where both of ours exists in the same galaxy. It's a vague generalized theory, but one that definitely seems real now that we're in this situation. I've always liked to think that there's an infinite amount of things we don't understand about the universe."

He frowns a little. "Afterlife? Spirits are not that in my world. They just are. Some claim they are the first children of the maker, those that believe in that. " Bull doesn't.
no subject
"Oh, so they're not ghosts, they're their own species." Interesting! "When you say spirit it can be referring to dead people who haven't moved on in our world. Or so the theory goes. No one has proven they're real."
no subject
"We have ghosts too. But they are a bit different. Often there is magic involved there, a curse of some sort. Dangerous stuff that."
no subject
"I would normally say we don't have magic, but turns out we do. Tony and I just met a pair of wizards." Bruce really did think he'd seen a lot of odd things so far, but wizards on earth that no one was aware of? That was new. "Our friend Thor had a magic hammer though, and he said science and magic were connected." Bruce isn't so sure he agrees, they feel very different to him, but it's impossible to argue with Thor.

He nods at the explanations of the job the Avengers did, similar to the stuff he did. But only similar. "But you said a lot of what you did was to fight aliens? Sounds similar to the Grey Wardens. They are a group, or was, dedicated to fighting darkspawn. The Templars fight demons and control mages. The Ben-hassrath is a little different, we find traitors and such."
no subject
He nods. "Fighting anyone who attacked us, really, but it had to be on a grander scale than what we expected from the police or the army. When you're fighting aliens that can fly and are bigger than this entire village, you kind of need metahumans to help out." Bruce wasn't so sure they should have meddled in other ways, but it was hard to know where the lines were. He knew it only got more questionable after Ultron. "Control mages?"

no subject
"But who watches the Templars? Are there checks and balances across the board?" He knows a thing or two about how badly things can go when people in power are unchecked.

Bruce has the book he wants to take next, tapping it into his open hand. "Thanks for talking. I really should get started on this one. If you need any help when you figure out the brewery, the Iron Bull." See, he meant it when he said he'd use the full title no matter what.
[ooc: figured we could wrap this and do a newer one soon! :)]
