[Fountain]
Mary had a very eventful couple of days. Her house had been broken into, she had been abducted and then later rescued by her brother and his partner. After she helped her brother and his Task Force out a bit, Steve had put her on a plane back to the mainland as he was convinced that she was safe to be on the island. As much as she didn't want to leave, she knew that he was right and by her not being on the island, it'd give her brother some peace of mind.
She had been in the air for about half and hour to forty-five minutes before she dozed off. Before she knew it, she was waking up underwater. Mary was taken by surprise but she feels a slight push upwards and she rights herself in the water and proceeds to swim towards the surface. Once she breaks the surface, she takes a deep breath as she treads the water, looking around to try to figure out what is going on. Did her plane crash? She looked around but she saw no evidence of such but instead she was in some sort of...fountain?
Swimming over to the side, she climbs out, brushing her now wet hair out of her face and she realizes that the bandage that was wrapped around her hand from her fight with her abductors was missing as was the one on her face. "This is some kind of weird dream right?" She said out loud, mostly to herself.
Mary takes a few minutes to look around from where she stands and she realizes that nothing looks familiar but she starts to walk towards the village. She didn't know where she was going but something told her she may be able to find some answers there.
[Village]
As she walks through the village, she has no plan in mind but she has genuine curiosity. She's still wet from the fountain but she wanders through the village, looking at the various buildings located in the village. All of the buildings look old and not the skyscrapers and built up homes and apartment buildings that she was used to at home. This village looked like something out of a history book.
As she did some exploring she figured she needed to find some help. Maybe someone could explain what was going on and point her in the direction of a telephone. If she could get in touch with her brother, he would come find her. She hiked her backpack up on her shoulder and continued her exploration through the village but now she is also on the lookout for someone who she could talk to.

Fountain
Clary had been making her usual laps around the village when she had spotted the girl near the fountain. She wasn't dressed in scrubs but in black yoga pants, a purple sports bra and a pair of sneakers. Her bright orange hair had been tied back, looking like a runner through a New York City park but without the trademark Ipod.
It was wishful thinking for it to be Isabelle climbing out of the fountain but Clary had been idealistically hopeful and then realistically let down. She tried to offer the new girl a smile but it didn't exactly work. She wasn't feeling particularly happy about this place or anything in it.
"You just get here?" She asked noting that the girl was soaked from head to toe. "There are some blankets in the inn. It isn't a towel but they can dry you off."

Mary looked the woman over. She looked friendly enough and Mary was happy to have someone to fill her in on what was going on here.
"I am." Mary squeezed the excess water out of her hair. "I was on a plane to Los Angeles but then I was in there." Mary looked at the fountain. "Where is here exactly?"
Mary was soaked from head to toe and it was only a matter of time before she got cold and at the mention of blankets, she felt goosebumps rise on her skin at the idea of warmth. "Blankets sound good right about now." She gave the woman a smile. "I'm Mary, by the way."
Fountain
"Clary. Come on. I'll see if anyone has food in the kitchen. I'd offer to cook but I really suck at it." They had to light actual fires to cook here and Clary had no idea how to do that.
"I was in New York before I arrived here."
The walk to the inn was really short. Clary jogged to the door and then pushed it open for Mary to step through. There wasn't a fire going yet but there was wood next to the fire place for anyone who wanted to start one.
Re: Fountain
"It's nice to meet you Clary, even under the circumstances." While she wasn't happy to be stuck here with no answers, she was happy to know that she wasn't alone. She laughed at her comment about her culinary skills. "Yeah, if it involves anything more complicated than making pancakes, I suck at it too."
As they walked to the inn, Mary smiled as Clary held the door open. "Thanks." She stepped in and took a look around the inn, noting the lack of modern technology. "Why does it feel like we've gone back to the medieval times?" She was exaggerating slightly, of course but the lack of computers and the having to build a fire yourself was not lost on her. She looked at the fire place. She didn't really know how to start a fire either. Her dad had tried to teach her when she was young but she never really paid attention. But it couldn't be that difficult, could it?
Fountain
"Sort of. I've been calling the town Salem in my head. It looks like they have lines to run electricity but no power. The fire in the inn will be on nonstop once it gets cold enough." She rolled her shoulder in a short shrug. "At least that's what I've been told." Clary would believe it when she saw it.
Clary didn't know how to do anything but there were a lot of people around willing to teach those who knew absolutely nothing. Clary hadn't learned from any of them yet but had produced a fairly decent map of both villages, complete with random street names and house numbers. "Kitchens through here. I think they have some fish or something. The harvest was recent so there is a lot of food that they're prepping for the winter or something. I don't know what they do but I am sure we can swipe some." It seemed like a free-for-all sort of set up though Clary assumed that was true until someone took to much or endangered everyone else's survival.
"So what do you think of your own version of the Twilight Zone." She paused. "Oh. I see berries. Let's grab some." She missed pizza.
Re: Fountain
"No electricity? Great." Mary was less than impressed. While her brother would be in his element in this place with the lack of amenities, Mary wasn't happy. "My brother would love this place. He loves roughing it." She looked at the supplies to make a fire again, wishing she had paid attention to her father trying to teach her how to build a fire.
Mary listened as Clary told her where the kitchen was. "So nobody runs the inn or the kitchen? We can just come and go as we please here?" Mary wasn't complaining but it just seemed like a very strange way of keeping people that someone had gone to the trouble of abducting.
Mary followed Clary into the kitchen and started to look around. "It's definitely something. It still feels like it's some kind of nightmare or a bad high. How long have you been here?" Mary looked over the berries. "Are we sure they're safe to eat?"
Fountain
"I hate roughing it." She had grown up in Brooklyn and while the world of Shadowhunters wasn't easy, Clary didn't consider it roughing it. "I'm used to tall buildings and a lot of concrete." Thinking of brothers brought Jace to mind. Clary knew that she shouldn't think of him. There was nothing that she could do here but that discomfort continued to follow her.
"Not officially. A woman named Kate does the upkeep though. She's busy so I only see her at the lunch meals when she sets up the food. A lot of people pitch in to help but she's the one I see always cleaning and fixing things up around here." Clary rolled her shoulders. "We can't exactly leave this canyon. There is the section that leads to the beach but otherwise we're stuck here and everyone ends up back at the inn."
She paused by a bulletin board. "You can check this out later but people put up stuff here about things that have happened. This is sort of an on going thing." Clary wasn't particularly amused by it and continued into the kitchen. Someone had made soup and left what was left on the stove top but Clary wasn't interested in eating more soup. "That soup there is probably up for grabs. You want a bowl? You have to clean the dish but I can grab you some water from outside since you're new."
She popped a berry into her mouth, smiled, and passed them over to Mary. They were blueberries and raspberries. "Yes. I've been here a few months." Her introduction to the small Twilight Zone town wasn't too bad because she had had a friend here. Isabelle was gone now but it made it a little easier for Clary to adjust.
"Oh, you can pick an empty room if you want a place to sleep. If that freaks you out I have an empty bed in my room. It's two people per room."
