WHO: Margaery Tyrell
WHERE: The Inn
WHEN: 2/09
OPEN TO: Caius
WARNINGS: None
STATUS: Closed
With evening settling in, Margaery had come to the inn to enjoy a bit of tea and the warmth of the fire. It wasn't a surprise to find Caius there, given that the inn was a gathering place for everyone. While they had spoken after his arrival, she hadn't had the opportunity to see him again, as there was much that occupied her attention. They had gotten along rather well, enough that she hoped that to see him once again.
She held out a cup of tea for him, joining him by the fire. The last of the cold was seeping from her bones, leaving only a comfort and languid feeling that only the winter seemed to bring. "You seem to have adjust rather well." She said to him, looking at him over the brim of her cup.

During their first meeting, Caius had decided to not share the fact that they knew each other. There was no question in his mind that it would be uncomfortable for her knowing that they shared such a close bond in another far corner of the multiverse, but it still made him a little sad.
He nodded, looking into the fire briefly.
"Yeah, it's not so bad. This place is a lot better than my world, or the last one I was in. In fact, this is kind of a holiday for me." he said, trailing off into a soft laugh.

"You have been in more than one?" There were others in the village that could say the same thing, but it was still shocking to hear for someone unused to it. "What was your previous world?"
She followed his gaze, feeling herself shiver. How many worlds were there?
"It is strange to think of this place as being a holiday."

He paused to take a sip of the hot tea cautiously. "I've spent a long time moving around, bouncing from to place. This universe is a lot more relaxed."

"I don't know if "relaxed" is the right term for this place. Mysterious, lacking in answers is perhaps more appropriate."

"The last place I was in was driven by demons and it was a really dark place. Every once in awhile, you'd feel the whole City influence certain moods. There's nothing like that here. So, that's why I say it's a bit more relaxed."

"You don't mind being brought here?" He would be one of the first that she met. Most others were angry and irritable, which she couldn't blame them for. He was perhaps one of the friendliest new arrivals she had ever seen.

It meant peace finally.
But that didn't change how Caius was willing to endure everything because of the woman who sat beside him, and Claire. When they left the City and he was pulled back into his world, he simply didn't have the energy to keep waiting.
Now he was here with them again.
"Not really." Caius replied, shaking his head before looking back at her. "I've got to know some people who I only have the chance to be around in worlds like this."
The way he said it might convey a feeling like she was being spoken to. Indirectly, of course.

Instead, she smiled kindly at him, placing a hand on his arm. She might not remember him, but she did feel drawn towards him. He had a good heart, something that she could see clearly.
"There is small comfort in that." She offered him. "There are those that you meet that you might not otherwise. They become true friends. I hate to imagine where I would be without those I met here." Or who she might be. They influenced her for the better.
