Emma Swan would not be a woman that one could say would encapsulate the holiday spirit. In fact, she was exactly the opposite. She never cared for the holidays much, any holiday for that matter, but Christmas especially. Christmas was a family holiday, and Emma didn’t have a family. The thought pained her for a long time, but she found that it was much easier to just not think about it. Rather than focus on what she didn’t have, she chose to focus on what she did, and worked in soup kitchens in whatever city she was in at the time.
This year, however, she was in this strange place, but she had friends and Killian. She was determined to make the most of this Holiday. The weather was truly frightful, but still she trudged her way to inn to speak to Kate about maybe helping out. It was something that she could do without killing anyone, and who knows maybe she would learn a thing or two.
On her way back home, she picked some berries from a bush for decoration, and found some pine branches laying around. She wished for the first time that she had a tree or something festive to make the house seem more homey, but she was making due.
She shook off her boots, and made her way into the house, making sure that the fire was lit and heating the house.
