Those who have been in the village since last New Year's Eve will likely not be entirely surprised by the appearance of a door: Cherry red, shimmering, and seemingly standing in space in the wooded area between the South Village inn and the police station. To look at it, it leads nowhere, but to push it open from either side reveals the impossible beyond.

Instead of a party this time, the door reveals a jubilant outdoor carnival. Lights and bright swaths of bunting are strung across the area with its rows of booths and entertainment, and the scent of food drifts on the sweet spring air. Anything you can imagine is at your fingertips and free, from cream-topped coffees to candy apples to neon-colored cocktails: Just step up to a cart and find it waiting.

Try your hand at a game of skill, ride the Ferris wheel, slide down the helter skelter — But do it soon, for this dream will not last, and disappears with the next rising sun.

Seifer OTA

The first time a mysterious door opened up on the island Seifer had been intensely suspicious. Constantly on the alert and certain something terrible was just around the corner. Surprisingly nothing bad from the party itself, personal events aside could not be blamed upon the festivities. This time, however, it was with far less hesitation he chose to go check out the new magic door to a pocket dimension that appeared.

If red was supposed to be alarming it certainly failed its mission, and thank goodness it did! What lay inside was significantly more exciting than a huge mansion and weird clothes. A carnival the likes he'd never seen! Alright truth be told he'd never been to one but damn it he'd read about them and they sounded fantastic!

It was all so astonishing in fact he found himself spoiled for choices and unable to truly decide on where to start. Except the coffee. Sugary, delicious coffee. That had to be the first stop. As for the rest he might go searching for someone to drag along with him. Or wait until someone came to find him. Carnivals are always more fun with friends, right?

Listen, Nida has never been to a fair. Ever. Okay, maybe when he was six or seven but he doesn’t remember. And he hadn’t meant to go in anyway. Instead he’s been passing by and then there was Seifer. A hand shooting out to grab him and pull him back. Then Nida is left staring.

“Another door? Really? What’s back there this time?”
