Aqua doesn't feel like she's been back all that long, honestly, and yet it also feels a bit like she never left. Having some time with her friends helped her sort it all out, but she is still having trouble reintegrating without feeling like she's missing a limb. She still can't summon her keyblade, though it's understandable why she won't try to summon the Master's anymore. She can't access her magic, either. Nothing feels right and being ripped away from Terra and Ven has left an even bigger hole in her heart.

So she's done the only thing she can do by falling back into her habits from before she left. She's taken to patrolling around, getting a feel for the village and the world state, making sure that there aren't any tendrils of darkness around. Not that she can sense those like she used to, either. Still, she's doing what she can to help.

That's why she's alert enough to spot the two figures making their way up as she passes by the forge. Something about them looks very wrong. They appear dirty and disheveled, like they haven't taken care of themselves, by force or choice. The male is wearing black scrubs and the female is in green, which by itself doesn't make Aqua think anything is wrong. The way they immediately start running at her threateningly absolutely does and Aqua falls instinctively into a defensive stance.

"Hey!" she calls, hoping her voice will snap them out of it. "I'm on your side!"

Little does she know that there's someone nearby who might be able to help.

Things had been quiet, and rather depressing around the forge with both Tony and Rhodey now gone. Seifer often found himself now lost without anyone to drive the project forward. He didn't know enough about the River Project to take it over, wasn't sure if Brig did either, so really most of his mindless busy work he'd let taper off. Instead spending more time just tidying the forge and making mass quantities of charcoal in the hope he'll be able to put it to good use.

At least Brig was still around to help teach him a few things that books could not. It just didn't quite have as much joy without cranky Tony to periodically bicker with. As much as he'd argued against it Nida had been right, Tony had fulfilled a role he'd always lacked in his life. Something of a mentor, or father figure, who didn't just treat him like another tool.

It was while trying not to think about these things he'd been outside tending the charcoal pit, tossing more wood in the fire to keep building up coals. When he heard Aqua shout he raced quickly around the building to see what the hell was going on.

"Sam? The hell's up with you?" The man he didn't recognize, but he knew Samantha from a few conversations over the network. Quickly enough he was at Aqua's side, taking a defensive stance in preparation to fight off the assailants. With more even odds the two seemed to hesitate, if only for a moment.
