if you're gonna wanna fly, you gonna have to crash

WHO: Lucifer Morningstar
WHERE: Near the river
WHEN: March 10
OPEN TO: OTA
WARNINGS: Geese on Man violence

He's found the interesting little vending machine during one of his sojourns out and about.

It's a pretty little thing, but it is interesting that of all the powers within it, not a single one appears to be his. It's only further evidence to him that Dad doesn't want him to have proper fun, though at least he can have some sort of a good time. It's also a shame no one thought to stock the vending machine with at least one row of Twinkies. If you're going to have the technology, you might as well best use it.

He's whistling and chipper as he selects rapid regenerative healing and makes a note to come back for some of the other extremely helpful powers that are on display. Once he's pressed the button, he now needs to make the more important discovery and see if it's worked.

No time like the present.

He recalls seeing the geese-like animals near some of the bodies of water, which is perfect. It's not so large that if this healing hasn't kicked in, he'll be dead, but he also knows that geese at home are vicious enough that he'll have quick success if he does this right. It's not far before he finds some milling about the river, looking fretfully calm. If Lucifer has a talent (of which he has many, but this is paramount), it's being able to annoy something into a rage.

"Come on, then!" he demands, shouting loudly and splashing them with water, getting right into their little fiendish faces to agitate them. "I know you're Dad's least favourite creatures," he taunts. "Come and do something about it, will you?" He's ever closer, making loud noises against each of their squawks, and eventually, enough noise, flapping of his arms, and splashing does the trick.

The nearest one lunges for him with an intent to bite and bite it does, sinking its teeth into Lucifer's skin. He lets out a howl of surprise, tinged with delight, and steps back to see if that will do the trick, looking at the punctured skin with eager fascination.

To anyone looking in from the outside, maybe they would think that he's lost his mind, but Lucifer might just have a way to get part of his powers back and he's thrumming with the excitement of it, staring at his arm like it's treasure and not just a nasty goose bite.

Steph definitely thinks the guy has lost his mind. It's entertaining, at least. She watches from a safe distance, perched in a nearby tree as is traditional now for her. She's not about to brave the geese to try to help.

"Hey," she calls out instead, if only so he knows someone is watching and maybe thinks about how this looks. "Stop bullying the wildlife!"

Rounds are rounds are rounds. Nida normally starts on the outer edges of the town and works his way in, and he's already done that today. Already met a strange boy with a sword, and now that he's by the river he sees the whole thing, a bit late. Can't get close enough to swoop in to help, not until the goose has already bit. That's when he rushes forward, swinging his bpar-spear off of his back, jabbing the base toward the bird to drive it back some.

"I don't know what you're thinking sir, but you should probably get back a bit before it takes another bite."

It's the shouting that catches Ashley's attention when she was out to make her rounds of the village. Circling closer, not foolish enough to rush in at the sound of splashing. It didn't sound as if someone is drowning, though she worries someone is being drowned and she hurries up then at that fear.

Only to find this man harassing a goose. For a long moment, she just stands there, watching the spectacle as the goose lunches in, biting him.

"That's one point for the bird," she says, folding her arms over her chest. "You gonna let him get the better of you like that?"

Lucifer is just a touch older than her usual tastes, though flirting-chicken is her favorite mode of communication after puns. She raises her eyebrows.

"Wow, you could at least buy me dinner first." Then again, she definitely hit her last boyfriend in the face with a brick the very first time they met. It's a soft rule, apparently.

"You do know there are easier ways, right?"

Seriously? Nida gives the man a look that says he definitely thinks this man is crazy. In fact as he moves between Lucifer and the water he gathers the strength of his power, letting the bubble of green energy spread around them. Enjoy the extra durability, Lucifer, because you're likely not getting hurt again.

"You want something vicious, piss me off over how stupid you are to get hurt," Nida chides.

Meanwhile the goose apparently determines they haven't backed off enough, flaring it's wings wide to lunge in. And Nida just spins the spear and raps the bird over the head. Not enough to knock it out, enough to have it flinch back.

"Back off, goose, or you're dinner."

In fact, to further the point he gestures and a burst of wind runs past them, forcing the bird back further.

She takes in his words, looking to his arm and back to him. She considers that a moment, taking a guess at least on one thing. I mean, why else would you want to be bit, and now there's not a wound there.

"Did you check with the inn's notes? I mean, what if it's saliva is healing?"

Smirking then a bit, shrugging as she strolls closer. "I mean, I am trained at hurting people," she admits. "So if you really want to be hurt, I'm willing to give it a try," she says. "What's the catch? How bad do you plan to hurt me in return? Sorry but I'm not into pain. At least receiving."

Nida considers the man quietly, rolling his eyes at the stupidity of this stranger. And he gets grief for being young? This man clearly hasn't earned his age.

"Won't do you much good for right now. I'm radiating a protective aura that increases durability for a while. But if you come by the dojo I'll be happy to..."

He's looking at Lucifer's arm now, though. Oh. He... he gets it. And smirks. "I see. Bunker, right? And you're just someone looking for what they had at home. Yeah, I can respect that. But this is a stupid way to go about it."

That does pique her interest. She drops down to the ground to get a little closer. Not close enough to threaten the geese. She may be from the big city, but she knows how geese are.

"Invulnerable would mean you wouldn't get injured. What you're talking about is a healing factor. Why didn't you just get a knife?"

Since his house is practically on the river, John spends a bit out there for no other reason than to do some fishing or listen to the trickling of water in the middle of the night when he can't sleep. It happens more than he cares to admit.

Today, he's out walking on the other side of the river when he stops after noticing a guy leaning over and taunting a goose. And it sounded every bit as crazy watching it as it would trying to imagine it happening.

John will just stand there watching Lucifer until he's noticed because it's both amusing and intriguing, but part of him wants to see the guy fall into the river for the sake of karma on the geese's part.

"The invulnerability is limited," Nida counters. "I've seen someone pick this up recently, to deal with a serious wound that almost killed him. And even then, it left him worn and tired. It still takes from your body."

What a mess, this guy just seems... Nida sighs, shaking his head. "Don't. Move."

Before he can think enough to stop he spins on the spot, boar-spear in hand. With the enhanced speed he'd picked up as well, and years of experience, he thrusts forward with the weapon, cutting across the man's cheek with just the very edge of the blade. If Lucifer doesn't move, well, he's not likely to do anything more than a scratch deep enough to bleed.

She raises an eyebrow at him, utterly unimpressed. Sure, there are all sorts of ways she knows how to hurt him- if she wanted to.

"Leave the poor goose alone, it's not even stopping traffic. C'mere." She pulls a throwing knife out of her pocket (one of many, rest assured) and spins it around her thumb once before catching it.

Foggy honestly just watches for a while, because he has suspected the man was a bit insane and this seems to backing that up.

"Lucifer?"

She rolls her eyes while he laughs. Yeah, she gets it. The moment she could turn into a bird she wanted to move into the sky full time. Still, it’s a little creepy talking to an out-and-out masochist.

"Please don’t hand your major arteries out to strangers," she lectures exactly as though he were a child. "Most of them probably don’t know where they are." She takes his wrist and turns it with the professionalism of one who does know where arteries are, turning it the opposite way around so they aren’t so close to the surface. She has the knife up to his wrist just under the thumb before she pauses.

Maybe this is a bad idea. And if Steph thinks it’s a bad idea it has to be a really terrible idea, right? No, no, don’t be silly. She’s just skittish because the last time she was this close to blood she blacked out a little.

"Uhhhh if I pass out please use my hair tie to cut off the circulation," she says quickly, and before either of them can change their minds she cuts a fast but deliberate line that stops short of his inner elbow, carefully avoiding those arteries.

She does not pass out. She does, however, get suddenly very weak and very nauseous.
