And Through the Streets I have to Howl [OTA + Prompts for Wanda + 7]
Who?: Eddie Brock/Venom
Where?: All Around + Wanda's House
When?: All of January
Open To: Anybody + Wanda
Warnings: Will update as Needed
OTA
Eddie and Venom are...together. Two beings of one mind and one body even if they have their own ideas and lives. It bothers Venom perhaps - not out of malice but because there should only be Eddie. Except the fact that they're two split beings seems to work better for them. He thinks. Maybe.
Eddie and Venom are in a conversation about this with Eddie quietly explaining the concept of Identity to Venom has been tough but for whoever heads up to meet him will heaer Eddie speaking softly to stretched skin in his hands and arms. His eyes are white with floating black veins.
"I am—yet what I am none cares or knows;
My friends forsake me like a memory lost:
I am the self-consumer of my woes—
They rise and vanish in oblivious host,
Like shadows in love’s frenzied stifled throes
And yet I am, and live—like vapours tossed"
Eddie twitches, "It's not stupid. John Clare was sick. Isolated....Yes filled with neruoses...jesus."
Don't mind them. They'll be here arguing.
Prompt for Wanda;
Eddie's got a basket that he's borrowed filled with snacks - sandwiches and a few other light meal items. He and Venom had a hearty brunch before leaving and he's walking over to Wanda's door with a stupid little half smile.
You really do like her.
"She gets it V. She gets us."
You still want to be some kind of superhero and use our powers to protect people.
"It means eating bad guys." He steps up to her door with a shrug, "You like that, eating people, trust me I know and you know something we have never discussed because I feel like I'm going to go crazy if I own that we've eaten people and I-"
No. No he can't. The moment wanda opens the door he holds up the basket with a relieved look.
"Oh thank god. I was wondering if you wanted to have a picnic."
Prompt for 7;
It's been awhile since Eddie checked in with 7. He has memories and thoughts and feelings that belongs to Venom and Venom's concern is real.
Still, Eddie pushes Venom aside and shrugs his shoulders, "...Hey 7?" He knocks on her door, "It's Eddie. Just figured we ought to check in."
He pauses, "Make sure you're okay."

"Yeah. Should I leave Arado at home or he is welcome too?" The dog barked when he heard his name and pushed past Wanda's legs to give Eddie hello licks.
no subject
I want to come out and play with him. This sucks
"...Very."
Eddie blinks, "...Sorry. V wants Arado to come. I just realized I never asked what foods you like. I got ham and cheese but I'd like to know."
no subject
"My favorite foods are all from Sokovia but I don't eat them often. It's a lot of starch."
She and Arado followed at Eddie's side. She didn't know where exactly they were going for this picnic but she was looking forward to it. It was nice to see Eddie and of course Venom too. "I really like pizza though I've heard that there is a lot of argument about what goes on pizza."
Wanda looked over at him with an easy smile. "What about you?" She was curious about his favorite foods but also his thoughts on pizza. Spending time in New York had made Wanda realize how divided the pizza issue was.
no subject
He shrugs, "...So naturally apparently he orders it and eats it just to piss me off."
The taste is...a level of nasty that he doesn't want to think about. Hands in his pockets his smile is shy and slightly nervous, keeping pace with her.
"I mean...which ones have you had? Have you had any toppings? There's really...y'know, no wrong answer except pineapple sucks."
You have no imagination.
Eddie's eyes narrow and he ignores it, "...Y'know I only saw Sokovia on the news and I feel like I sorta...didn't give as much of a shit as I could. I'm sorry about that."
no subject
You never know.
"I like classic topics. Pepperoni. Sausage. The classic supreme? I think that's what it's called. It has a lot of toppings on it." That's what Vision sometimes ordered. Likely because it was one of the pre-made selections.
Talking about her home always made Wanda paused and think before speaking. She didn't talk about Sokovia or her brother. Most of the people she worked with already knew the story. "It's fine. It was on the other side of the world." Wanda looked over at him as she spoke. "It was my fault that Ultron got as far as he did. Tony might have created him but I thought he wanted to help people." Not destroy the entire population.
"I was foolish back then."
Foolish. Young. Stupid.
no subject
No. He couldn't have been.
"I think we're all a little like that, nobody's completely naive but there are a few truly evil people. I dunno. Stupidity can wear people down though."
His hand goes to the small of her back and hovers there. They're almost to the water, "Topic change time. You like sports?"
no subject
"Stupidity and even good intensions can have a way of back firing." She thought that people should take responsibility for those moments and improve but there was no changing things that had already happened.
"Yes. Topic change." Wanda smiled a little brighter. "I do. I've been learning about watching football and baseball. Steve wanted to teach me about American sports." It was a pleasant memory and one that didn't involve fighting. "Do you like sports?"
Wanda stepped next to Eddie's side and looked an arm around his waist. Arado was walking along with them but when he saw the water he went running off to investigate.

He knows of Eddie, not just from Anne, but from the Brock Report. So he knows exactly who he's approaching, watching the apparent conversation between host and hosted. "I always had a soft spot for Dylan Thomas, but probably because the attitude helped me get through some hard times in high school."
no subject
I do not like poetry
"...Tough shit you're going to have to deal." Eddie blinks, "...Sorry- that-It's never going to get normal for anybody and I really am sorry about that."
no subject
Then Foggy smiles, a genuine smile because it's a little weird but it's also very... human. "It's cool, I'm a friend of Anne's and I met Venom at the New Year's Eve party. I'm Foggy." He offers his hand.
no subject
Fuck normally I never meet the guy who replaced me.
His features slip into reporter mode and offered him a hand, "I know. I see what Venom sees most of the time and I'd like to apologize on behalf of him. He's...a jerk."
It's said with a lot of affection, "...Anne's her own woman. He gets kind of protective."
no subject
one night stand aside. He's also aware that Eddie just went on the defensive, because he's a lawyer and good at reading people."Not here to complain about him. He was very well behaved and he did only threaten to eat my spleen if I hurt Anne, which I figure is his version of the shovel talk. I also have no idea if I'm using the right pronouns for your companion, I mean, does a symbiotic alien share the gender of the host? I'd assume they have their own sexes... You don't have to answer any of that, sorry."
no subject
He scratches his head and deflates by several hairs, "...He uh...we are uh...It's we...when...he's...a suit? It's we. When it's just him he's...a he. I think. He says that the gender binary is eventually abandoned by any sentient species in the galaxy. that it's...you that matters. Your identity. who you are."
He swallows hard at that, "...It's weirdly self affirming. He doesn't give a shit about my dick y'know? He didn't-" no. Not talking about Anne here, "...He doesn't care he just kind of cares about what's inside. It's...It's nice."

He hears a man speaking and it sounds like a poem, so he follows the sound, as friendly as he is curious. "That is a very nice poem, my friend, did you write it? The sense of self is ---" Leo stops when he sees the stretched skin and arms, the strange eyes, and his mouth drops open. "Mio Dio," he breathes out, staring. He doesn't run, and while something in him says to be afraid, he simply observes.
no subject
"...Yes." Eddie shakes his head and clears the creature eyes away, I mean no. I didn't write it. Don't be scared - you're new right? I'm Eddie and what you saw was Venom my-"
He pauses, "My symbiote."
no subject
"I ---" There are so many questions, where to start. "I apologize, I have never heard or seen such a thing. What is a symbiote? It is named for dangerous toxins? Is it a dangerous toxin?" When Leo gets started sometimes he can start to ramble. "How did your body change that way? Can you do it again?"
no subject
Eddie runs a hand over his face.
"...A symbiote's an...it's a creature. There are creatures in nature that do things like eat offa hippos and shit like that? That's what V does for me it's...
It's a long story."
He swallows and looks nervous, "...That sounds terrible. I'm sorry I'm not making any sense. V?"
And his features shift, unconsciously, before his eyes go white and black again. His features fade and when he speaks it sounds like the devil itself.
We are a symbiote. An alien warrior from the planet Kylantar who has come to earth and found a new home amongst your people.

Leonardo actually jumps at that voice and his eyes go wide. He has the immediate impulse to run again, which has to be squashed. Instead he comes closer, moving his head from side to side to see Eddie from different angles. "The human body should not be able to contract in such a way." And yet! Here it is! "I... I'm ...." Leonardo blinks at him and then looks absolutely flummoxed. "You're from another planet?" His brain might very well be set on fire soon.
"This is ... incredible!" He doesn't know what else to do. He flails his arms a little. "Such a thing should not be possible and yet it is, you are a marvel!"
no subject
He says I'm a Marvel. He deserves answers Eddie. in Eddie's mind he can sense that smugness, feel the creature oozing through his chest, swimming up to his brain and pushing just there. Easier.
You really did alter my DNA so you could do this easier didn't you?
Venom ignores him, he can tell, and address this newcomer instead.
We wouldn't say we're a Marvel. We're warriors, powerful creatures, mighty beings who do much of the hunting here. You should see us in our full form. Eddie and I create a bond, a stronger creature. It's wicked awesome.

7 groans into her pillow and then slides out, pulling her blanket around her shoulders.
She was beginning to see the benefits of solo living. She opens the door and leans against the doorjamb and tugs at the blanket. "Doesn't Venom keep you updated at all?"
no subject
He pauses, "Can we sit? Just for a sec?"
no subject
"Together? Like, how we go hunting at night?"
no subject
He sits across from her and folds his hands in his lap, leaning forward and nodding at her, "...Are you okay? He's good, but he's a decent...being."
no subject
She looks at Eddie, her expression going a little more unreadable. "Why do you ask?"
no subject
He kind of always wanted a brother. An older brother sure, but a little brother...maybe he would have liked a friend.
Who's he kidding. I don't know how to be close to somebody like that.
"...Never mind. He just cares about you a lot.
...why does he make you feel more normal?"
