[The video opens to show Anne's living room with a subtle glowing decor of candles and greenery and red berries (though, to note, care has been taken so the two elements are not intersecting). Anne herself is sleek-haired and smiling, with a little kitten perched on her shoulder. She's got one hand up to steady him as he's the inquisitive type, trying to lean in to sniff at the device she's currently talking to.]
I received two surprises today. Little Lynn on my shoulder, here, and an obscene amount of wine. So, I am declaring Girl's Night. 'Girl' is up to your interpretation. If you want to hang out and enjoy some wine, you'll be welcome. Just, BYOG; bring your own glass. House 53.
Private to Franklin
I was gifted with way too much wine for one person, and am throwing a little get together at my house. You're more than welcome to come, and I also wanted to know if you want me to set a bottle aside for you?
Private to Tony
Bottle of wine with your name on it if you want it, as thanks for helping me deal with Eddie and Venom.
At The House
Anne has pulled out a selection of eight bottles and set them in the living room. She's stashed two for herself and the rest are in the kitchen just in case they somehow run through the first 6,000 millileters. She's not sure how much interest there will be or how many people will show up, but she's also aware that what she's got could be considered a hot commodity.
So why not barter with it, Anne? Why not trade it for favors, labor? She asks herself, but the answer is too bare and ready; I'm lonely. The idea of filling her house up for one night for something that's not related to survival, surrounding herself with friends, will make the truth she's facing a little easier to bear.
Hadn't those been the best Girl's Nights? Either sharing a celebration or gathering to commiserate? It's not something Anne did often - she wasn't usually the one organizing it - but with everything that's been happening lately, she'd felt she was in need of a little release and what a perfect sign it was to find the 'Crazy Single Cat Lady Starter Kit' on her doorstep. At least she can have a sense of humor about it.
She's got a dry red opened and a glass poured for herself as she waits for people to arrive.
Thor | Open to Anne
He's still learning the geography of the village, so he knocks on the wrong door a couple of times before finding what he hopes is the right one. Rapping his knuckles against the door, he takes a step back to allow for a wide berth in case it's another stranger, tucking his hands into the pockets of his scrub trousers.

"Hello and welcome to the ... party ..."
There's one thing about seeing the news articles and hearing casual chatter by the watercooler, and it's something else to know that you're sharing a tiny village and having pleasant and gramatically thoughtful conversations, but it's an entirely different matter altogether to open your door and find the actual God of Thunder standing on your porch.
Oh, Anne knew it was likely, after they last texted, she'd been expecting him to arrive, but her already wine-clouded senses have to swim through the added actuality of him stnaidng there and for a moment she can only stare before taking in a breath and composing herself, "Thor! Come in, come out of the cold-"
She steps back so she can have room to enter; the fire's going and there are people and together it's made for a cozy night, compared to outside. "Did you bring a glass? What's your preference, red or white?"

It's not that he's used to the wide-eyed, mouth-agape stares, but .. well, he sort of is. Especially after he'd joined up with the Avengers. There were some mortals who approached with easy friendliness and casual conversation, but there were just as many, if not more, who reacted in a similar way to the woman he presumes is Anne at the door. It's always a bit of an ego boost for him, and he revels in it for as long as it lasts.
He nods his thanks and takes a step inside, eyes scanning the room. It's a good energy, he thinks. It's intimate, but not overly so. There's a certain ease with which the people conduct themselves, and he wonders whether he'll be able to match their vibes.
"Anne, it is a pleasure to finally meet you in person," he says, turning back to look at her fully. He smiles again, this time a bit brighter than before. It's more genuine than vacantly pleasant. "A glass! .. Oh, no, I don't think I did," he says, patting himself down like he'll find it hidden in a pocket. "I am sorry about that. I was so concerned about getting here on time that I completely forgot to bring one with me. As for preference, I have none; I will defer to your tastes."

"Well, I'm a little limited on stemware at the moment ... I guess if you want, you can either share my glass, or ... I have a bowl?" Which, she thinks as she looks up at Thor, wouldn't be entirely unfitting in his hand. "Or, you could claim a bottle and just drink out of that."
no subject
"In Asgard, we would have celebrations that would last the night - with endless food and endless drink! Being mortal now, I doubt that I will be able to engage in the same level of merriment, but a bottle for my own couldn't be too terrible." Thor has no idea what it means to be drunk, by the way. "What is the difference between red and white? I never considered the color; I mostly just drank it."

She'll lead him back to the coffee table in the living room where there are a couple bottles already tapped and a few waiting their turn. If she had to guess, she'd put him at a medium-bodied red, but she wants to hear it from him before she goes picking something. In the meantime, she refills her glass from the full-bodied red that was her preference.
"By the way, if you're worried about tolerance, just make it a goal to drink one glass of water for every glass of wine you have." A practice she is not exactly following herself, but that's on the condition that she will make up for it at the end of the night once everyone has left.
Ha.

It doesn't work, of course. They simply stand at attention, letting him make the choice on his own.
"I would think .. robust? Given how I am most of the time. Robust seems like the right choice." So many muscles, after all. "One glass of water for each glass of wine," he repeats with a nod. It seems like a lot of work, and he isn't sure he'll follow the advice, but he tucks it away in the back of his mind as a "for your information" tidbit.

"It should be on par with a sangiovese, if remembering my wines correctly." She takes a sip from her own, watching Thor and waiting for her verdict.

He takes another sniff as he listens to her explain, though he is unsure of what word she's just said. It's unlike any he's heard so far in his time on Midgard.
"Yes, on par with a San-jo-geese." He's trying, Anne. He smells it once more before bringing the bottle to his mouth and taking a hearty gulp. He knows to let it sit in his mouth for a few seconds, despite being tempted to chug it all the way Valkyrie had done on Sakaar. It isn't an Asgardian wine, but it is has a strong flavor. After swallowing, Thor grins at her and nods. "Yes! This is very good! You are a wine master!"

"So, what were the parties like on Asgard?"

But then he keeps going and she's able to find her dignity once more. "Mead? I don't know off the top of my head, but I wouldn't be surprised. Or, have you thought about making it yourself?"
*pretend i said the correct "one thousand," not "ten thousand" like an idiot XD
On that note, he takes another hearty gulp of his wine.
"I .. have not. I wouldn't know the first thing on how to do it, except that a massive amount of honey would be needed, and I'm not sure if there are bees here that are willing to part with it. From what I've been told, the insect life in this village is .. peculiar, at best."
lol whoops! will do! :D
She raises her own glass in a toast. "To learning new skills?"
no subject
With a smile, he raises his glass to meet hers with a gentle clink.
"To learning new skills," he agrees, then adds, "and to making new friends."
no subject
She smiles as she takes a drink.

"And that they sometimes attack without being provoked. I have never really had to .. think about this sort of thing before. I mean, I fought and defeated the fire demon Surtur without a second thought. And his minions. Thinking that an insect could potentially kill me is ... weird."
