August 7th - The Mill
After spending a few days hanging out around Danny, learning bits of things here and there, he took a day to explore the mill near his house. The door left open as he made his way around inside looking at the workings off the place. He had the basic idea of what a mill was used for from history books but the place had been why he chose his house. IT could be useful, but first he would have to figure out how the place really worked, or if anyone was actually using it.
August 8th - Around the Village.
Vergil was dressed in the pants he had gotten at the party, and his teal boots. His hair was styled again, and he felt a lot better about how he looked, the new teal button up was hanging half open over a white stained shirt from the pack he arrived with. He lacked the journal he was usually scribbling in when he was out and about in the village. He looked a little lost at times before heading any which direction. Without his journal he was learning the village again, he kind of knew where things were thanks to the landmarks he had jotted down, but he had loaned it to Kat while he went out.
He wasn't seeking Danny today, just looking to see what he could either help with, or learn from. He was still headstrong about becoming self sufficant... but he took a lot of care to avoid the Inn.
House 48 Late August 4th - Closed to Kat
He hadn't meant to ruin their nights, and here it was, he was upset, Kat was pulled away from a party she was surely enjoying and Steph looked at him like she expected him to be a rabid animal and attack her. Part of him wanted to ask Kat what was wrong with him... but no one had that answer. He had always been different. He had learn to hide it but, sometimes... sometimes the creature behind his walls slipped free. The demonic side he was more in tune with, but dared not admit.
"...you asked about the box." He spoke as they neared the door. "It was clothes, like yours." He had them on of course but, she asked. "Your dress looks lovely, Kat. I forgot to tell you that earlier."
House 48 Late August 4th - Closed to Kat
"Your clothes, they were the same color of your scrubs too?" She found it odd and while Kat didn't love the color green, it brought out the deep emerald hue in her eyes.
She paused, looked over at her box and then up at Vergil. She hadn't really cared that he took it from her. Though there were a few things in there that she'd take and hide, just in case they needed it later. "Vergil." Kat didn't actually know what to say but if past experiences had taught her anything, it's that saying nothing didn't work.
"You can tell people not to touch you. They'll respect it, even if you don't explain why." Kat wanted him to know that if he was just a little bit open, he might not go into a rage like this.

He figured she'd follow him out and talk on. So he had left the door open for her and had spoke back in to her. He knew how to project his voice.
"I don't care about touch that much." He did but not to the extreme he had reacted to. "I cant even really give a reasoning besides fight or flight instincts going a bit to high. "I dont know why she thought that was acceptable in any sense." He grumbled some looking out at the back yard. "I should apologize to you for pulling you away from the party over my temper."

She'd think about it. For now she was happy to have something cooler to combat the rising humidity.
Kat grabbed them both a glass of water and followed Vergil out onto the back porch. She didn't know if he would want water but she'd made the mistaking of drinking a little bit of the punch... which had been spiked. Her head was beginning to hurt. "Here." She passed off the water and took the seat next to him.
"It's fine. I'd much rather spend time with you anyway." It was awkward and complicated but it was also comfortable. In a world that was so unlike the place that Kat knew, she welcomed the familiarity.
"I don't know. I think Stephanie is just impulsive." Kat found it odd that Steph could act like a child and an adult all at once. She couldn't even begin to guess the girls age though she also had only spoken to Stephanie two other times before now. "I'll talk to her too." Kat knew that Steph and Vergil might never become friends but she thought that they should at least be able to talk.
"I don't think what she did was right." There was a 'but' coming. "But Vergil, you should try and give her the benefit of the doubt too. Just tell her that it isn't okay and you'd like to put it behind you both. This isn't the place to make enemies." She wanted to appeal to his human nature but also his logical nature. It would be the easiest way to make him see.

When she held out the water he muttered a thanks low, as he took the glass and held it between his hands, looking out at the back yard. Listening to her speak fully before he even opened his mouth, A drink taken while he listened looking out.
"Don't talk to her on my behalf. Talk to her if you want to. You are not my employee anymore Kat. We are not fighting a revolution." He started as he looked down into the glass. "I over reacted, she shouldn't have acted as she did, but I also should not have reacted as such. We are both at fault, and you shouldn't have been pulled into it. All I ask of you is that you give people here a chance, don't lean on me. I'm not who I was before. I am glad your here with me, but we must figure out what our new dynamic is." He spoke on before adding. "I don't need enemies, and she wont be one. I'll talk to her once I calm down in a day or so." Though he intended to carry his shaving razor on him.

Vergil was right, it wasn't the same here, but she wanted to stay close to him. It was a silly notion but Kat truly thought that she could protect him from his demons. His harsh words echo through her head before she can shake away the memory. It hadn't been all that long ago.
"I know." Her voice was very soft as her eyes dropped towards her water. "I don't know how to act around you now. I'm not sure what to do." Kat almost wanted to apologize but she knew that it would be unhelpful. "I'll figure it out." It was a statement as much as it was a promise. She knew she couldn't lean on Vergil but she didn't know how else to live. "But I want you in my life Vergil."
It didn't need to be said but Kat wanted to make that much clear. "If you need me. You can rely on me to be there. That's what friends do." They would never be friends, not exactly, but she wanted him to know that she would never shut him out.

He should map the stars....
"I want you in my life as well, Kathrine." Yes, the real name. "I am glad you have not found it in your heart to truely hate me after I hurt you so deeply. I saw your face when I said what I said... I was angry when I yelled at you. I apologize for that." He spoke with his eyes still to the sky. "You are my only friend from home. I have always considered you as such. I may have never said it, but I did. And you still are as long as you will have me... we will learn anew. Figure everything out step by step. "
He raked his hands through his hair before shifting looking at the sky. "I'm not okay Kat, I don't think I ever have been." It was easier to say looking at the sky, thinking back to his half drunken talk with Danny.

Silence fell between them and Kat found her chin tilting up and looking at the stars. You could never see stars like this in the city. They were beautiful, dazzling and... she could sit there and stare at the stars forever and never get tired of it. Maybe because it was unfamiliar. So much of this world was unfamiliar.
"I will always be here." Her voice felt very soft amidst the vast expanse of the sky. "And I can protect myself too Vergil. You don't have to do anything alone."
Kat's gaze dropped to the man sitting at her side. She knew how she felt about Vergil and she hated it but she had hope too. Kat hoped for his future. Not for any of her own gain but because she truly wanted him to be happy. "I know Vergil." It wasn't hard for her to see how much he struggled. "Maybe, in this place, we can both be okay."
She reached forward and lightly squeezed his hand. "Eventually." There wasn't any rush and Kat wasn't going anywhere.

"I know you can. You are stronger than you ever realized. I am simply used to having the answers, and the plans. Here I have had everything yanked from under me. It makes me question what use I am." He admitted before he shook his head. "I should be asking if your alright, if you enjoyed the party, they seem rare here."
He wished he had a phone or tablet to busy his hands, or a book even instead he lifted the glass to rest it between his fingers. "Yes, eventually, one day we will be alright." He sighed some. "So, I have an idea, be it a stupid one probably, it is an idea all the same."

"I had fun. I spoke to a few people. Some new." Her expression softened. "You taught me to dance." At least a little bit. "I ate some pizza." She smiled for a fraction of a second. "That was fun."
None of those things were all that important but Kat didn't know what else to say. She'd had a fun time and she hadn't minded leaving when Vergil had. "Did you have fun?"
August 5th - Closed to Danny
The text had been sent to Danny not long after sunrise, Vergil had slipped out of the house as early as possible. Despite knowing things would be fine with Kat he felt like he needed to get out. He couldn't bother any of the girls, and Sparda knows, he didn't want to explain what happened to Rose, so he called his friend... the person he called a friend. Danny.
He didn't know if he would have to wait a long time. So he was sitting against the fountain, reading over more of the survival manual while he waited.
August 5th - Closed to Danny
He was a little surprised to see Vergil up so early and figured it was something important.
Okay
He probably didn't need to text back but he wanted Vergil to know that he hadn't ignored the text, as he was prone to doing when he was meditating or training, and that he'd been awake.
Danny pulled on the green monks robes he'd gotten from the party and padded out to meet Vergil.

When he saw Danny approch in his monk robes, he stopped humming and looked up from where he sat on the edge of the fountain and closed the survival manual. "How have you been Danny?"
no subject
Danny was a little disheveled from his lack of sleep but Vergil looked as if someone had stepped on his favorite toy and then made him watch as they set it on fire. "What happened?" Danny took a seat at the edge of the fountain, his light green eyes watching Vergil with growing curiosity.

"I made an ass out of myself at the party, and because of that Kat ended up leaving with me. I wanted her to find other people to talk to. People she can trust, like you for me, it's to easy to fall into the old role of giving her orders." He replied with a shrug of his shoulder. "She's with my brother, she hasn't told me, but I'm not dense. Things can not be the way they were before... I dont know what I'm trying to say."
no subject
Danny knew that Vergil could have a bit of a temper but he wasn't really afraid of him. He'd much rather be honest with his friend and face Vergil if he got upset. Anger was something that Danny could understand. Sometimes he scared himself, not because of his anger but the lack of control that came with it. Anger was as much of a tool as it was a danger.
What he didn't understand was why Vergil started talking about how Kat was with his brother. "It sounds like you like her."

And other than the color, he can't really complain — Tight trousers and a loose jumper suit him perfectly well, even if the boots seem unlikely to be worn for some time. The style of them is fine, he's just not particularly fond of shoes at all these days, even when they're in a brilliant shade of Gryffindor scarlet.
Just now, he's on his way back from the spring, shirtless with his jumper looped round his neck, tattoos stark against his pale skin. Shaking damp hair from his eyes, he squints at the image in teal up ahead. Yes, he's really quite satisfied with having gotten red.
no subject
That was, until he realized the man had tattoos and his hair was longer. It wasn't Dante. Maybe his brother would never come, and that was perfectly fine. Still, Vergil would hold out hope, he knew he'd be miserable if his brother showed up, but he spent to long seeking him.
"Good afternoon." he spoke in a kind tone, once he was near the other. His eyes did a quick look over the man. Good looking guy.
