THE INN - December 6th
- Diana had been surprised when she found a small box on her porch because who would be leaving her a gift. She'd picked it up and eyed it suspiciously and even sniffed at it before she had brought it inside the house. It hadn't smelt like anything explosive.
She set it on the table in the kitchen and studied it for a few moments before she finally opened it up. There was a note right on top and she plucked it out and read it over.
Please enjoy ONLY one portion of this special treat and, if the box isn't yet empty, pass it and this note on to someone else so they can have a treat, too! Be warned: If the box and note are not passed on within 3 DAYS, bad luck will befall you!
Well. Strange. She sighed and set the note off to the side and looked in the box. She gasped and then smiled. Honey cakes! She had always loved honey cakes and she quickly reached inside and drew one out and not even giving it another thought, she took a bite. Her eyes shut and she made an appreciative sound at the back of her throat as she enjoyed her unexpected treat.
It was even better than what she remembered the ones from home tasting like. It was like pure heaven in her mouth.
Before she knew it, the cake was gone and Diana couldn't help but feel disappointed at its lose. She looked down at the box and the other honey cake that was inside and she almost reached in to get it but then remembered the note and dropped her hand back to her side. Last thing she needed was more bad luck in that place. Sighing, she placed the note back in the box, closed it up and then she was heading out and was moving towards the Inn.
It was really taking all her willpower not to open the box and gobble down the other honey cake and she picked up her pace before she could change her mind. She rushed up to the Inn and shoved the door open, all but bursting inside, her gaze automatically moving around as she tried to find someone to give the box to.
HOME December 8th - Steve Trevor
- Diana had generally been avoiding being in the house she'd shared with Steve. Perhaps it was cowardly of her, but she was still trying to recover from him not knowing anything about her or their time together. She had been through a lot in her life and she had thought that losing him had been the most painful thing she had ever gone through, but him not remembering had far surpassed that one.
And so every morning she had made sure she was up before dawn and she normally came home well after sunset. Sometimes she'd come home fore a quick lunch, but generally she stayed away and spent her time tramping through the woods, exploring the waterfall or looking through the other village. Sometimes she'd go hunting but she had only done that a few times.
She wasn't sure how she had managed it, but somehow she had avoided running into Steve. Maybe he realized that she needed to be away and have space, or maybe he didn't even realize she wasn't there. She didn't know and she really tried to not think about it so it wouldn't end up bothering her even more.
That evening though when she came home with a wild turkey, there was light downstairs and she exhaled as she tied the turkey up so she could deal with it the next day. She hesitated at the front door and then after a moment, she pushed the front door open and stepped inside the warmth of the house. She shrugged off her coat as she moved deeper into the house. ""Hello?"

"There is a need," he insists. "I don't care if I didn't mean to, I still did," is his insistence. "It all cleared after I had these terrifying visions of another war. It was like my mind was being cleared out so I could see that," he explains, trying to find some reason for why it all happened.

Diana's eyes opened and she looked at him a little confused. "Another war? What sort of other war?" Because there had been many wars after Steve had died, just... She didn't know how it would be possible for him to know about them. Visions were strange things though and she couldn't help but wonder which war they had him seeing.

He shakes his head, trying to dismiss it out of hand. "It probably was just some weird thoughts to fill the space," he admits. "Too much time spent in war, maybe it's just catching up to me now."

"But I think you might have seen some of the wars that are in store for humanity." She shook her head and then flashed him a sad smile. "We were able to stop one war but humanity seems to find itself in wars more often then not."
no subject
Shaking his head, he's not sure why he's struggling so much to believe this, but he is. "That can't be right," he says. "Diana, how...?" He doesn't even have words, because it just doesn't track right.

"I think this place, there just isn't a way to describe anything that happens here. I wouldn't think too much about what you saw. We can't do anything about it while we're here." She smiled for him. "All that matters right now is that you actually remember things."
no subject
"I remember plenty of things," he guarantees, wishing that he could tuck away the visions neatly, but he fears that they're doing to linger like the nightmares they are. "I could use a refresher on some other things, though," he says, playing stupid. "The kissing part, you and me. You may need to remind me how that feels."
