007 Treats [OPEN]
WHO: Wanda Maximoff
WHERE: Outside 6i village, near the river
WHEN: October 15th
OPEN TO: ALL
WARNINGS: N/A
A menagerie of strange occurrences were sweeping through the small town. The affects have varied from person to person but, after some investigation, Wanda has discovered that all the occurrences happened after the victim had found a random piece of fruit that vanished upon its discovery. It made her wary of random fruit though perhaps not wary enough.
She was walking towards the forest, with a borrowed bow slung over her shoulder and a thin collection of arrows looped against the hip of her cargo pants. Her boots fell heavily against the ground as she made her way, finding no need to be quite until she has entered the forest. Along her path was a thick twisted looking vine. Light green eyes followed it curiously to find a large bright orange pumpkin attached to its end. Pumpkins weren't a fruit… were they? They had seeds but it was like calling a tomato a fruit.
Wanda approached the gourd cautiously, only to have it vanish as she placed a hand on it.
"Fuck!" Her hands went to her head to make sure that there weren't any surprises similar to what Clint had experienced earlier in the month. When it appeared that she was safe, she looked down at where the pumpkin had been to find a perfectly made pumpkin pie.
Wanda hesitated, unsure if it was safe to eat. Except it looked so delicious, if bunny ears or losing her voice for a short time was the cost then she'd accept it for a piece of perfectly made pie.

That didn't mean though that she was ever at ease. It felt as if her guard was always up, bracing herself for attack or noise that would send her skittering back towards the village, herbs be damned. Each time she plucked a leaf or root, she quickly stood and scanned around her, searching for signs of a threat.
Perhaps because she was expecting something, she heard Wanda's cry. Clutching her basket tighter, she moved towards the source of it, mentally kicking herself for the bad idea this was. But instead of a monster, there was just a pie. A pie in the middle of the woods.
"What is that doing here?"

As far as she was from town, she didn't expect to see anyone out here. Lucrezia wasn't someone she knew but she had seen the woman around the inn and around Beverly's garden. She didn't talk to her before now but only because she had no idea what to talk about. Wanda didn't succeed at small talk.
"I don't know." She admitted before looking down at the pie.
"Do you think it's safe to eat?"
Wanda might try anyway.

"Did it simply appear?" Which apparently was a valid question, as strange as that was.
She looked at it apprehensively. Even the fruit around them was dubious, but some random pie in the woods? It could be a trap.
"You trust it enough to eat it?"
no subject
"I don't have bunny ears... do I?" Wanda's hands rose to her head but she felt nothing.
She then dropped her eyes down to the pie as she lifted it off the ground.
It appeared normal...

She had a passing knowledge of healing, but not enough that she would feel confident about being alone. If it was poisoned, someone else should be there with them.
"Come back to the inn."
no subject
"Alright." She submitted as she turned towards the inn.
Her eyes looked sideways at the woman. "You know Beverly." It was a statement but also Wanda's awkward attempt at starting a conversation. Beverly had moved in with her and Clint a few months before and she was sure that she saw this woman around since then.

It was with a sigh of relief that Lucrezia moved to walk with Wanda, grateful that she agreed.
"I do. She has been helping me learn more about plants." She grinned, pleased. She lifted up her basket, as though to display her fare for Wanda. "You are living with her, I think?"

Introductions weren't always important to Wanda. Not here, where everyone knew each other in passing, if not by name. But, Lucrezia was someone that Beverly knew, so she put forth a little bit of extra effort in the conversation. Beverly was also teaching Wanda about herbs and gardening though it was slow since she had chickens and a dog to take care of too.
Her grip on the pie shifted some, as if she was going to offer her hand, but she didn't want to risk dropping it. "Have you had pumpkin pie before?" It didn't seem like it was worth putting poison in, not when the overseers had so many ways that they could kill them.
no subject
She shook her head. "No. I have never heard of pumpkins before." They were New World fruits and plants, things that she hadn't been introduced to. There was talk about an expedition by an Italian that was funded by the King and Queen of Spain, but she hadn't paid very much attention to that. The New World was a point of fascination as an unknown, mysterious place. Beyond that, it didn't factor into her mind.
"What does it taste like?"
no subject
"Like most squash." She rolled her shoulders in a shrug. Wanda wasn't sure how to describe a taste. "Pumpkin pie is sweeter." she continued, her accent pleasantly rolling the words across her tongue. "It has nutmeg and cinnamon."
Wanda looked over at Lucrezia before glancing back down at the pie in her palms. "If you want to risk it. We can both try it."
They were almost at the inn.
