Defying Orders
WHO: Felicity Smoak
WHERE: The Village
WHEN: Sept 8-9
OPEN TO: Everyone in the village
WARNINGS: There should be none
It had been a couple of weeks since she and Oliver had pulled themselves out of the fountain in the middle of, well. Nowhere. A week had gone by before Oliver had let her leave the woods and moved them into a house on the outskirts of, well, nowhere. The packs they'd been given didn't give much in the ways of clues and Oliver didn't want Felicity showing herself to too many people unless it was necessary and he hadn't yet deemed it necessary.
By the beginning of the third week, Felicity herself deemed it necessary.
A lack of technology was one thing, but short of nagging Oliver into submission (not likely), all she could do was wait until he'd left to scout yet another something in another place and then walk out the front door. She knew he didn't expect her to do it, figured she'd still be taking him at his word that hiding away from everyone who might have answers would be best for them, but she was done with that.
Done hiding. She wanted more answers, more interaction, and figured that at least if someone killed her, at least there'd be an end to the wondering.
So, it was about ten o'clock in the morning on a Saturday when a woman in (mostly) white scrubs makes her way into town and starts looking around. She's not new, but she certainly looks it.
[OOC: Feel free to run into Felicity anywhere your character might be!]

"I'll keep it a secret." Wanda assured her. "I can understand his worry but no one here wishes you harm. It's the overseers who you should worry about." She continued to walk towards the breach with the snuggies in tow. "But we don't know who that is." There was a lot that they didn't know, which was why she wouldn't fault her friend for being so reserved.
"It's nice to meet you. Do you have have enough food where you are?" She might as well ask and send Felicity back with provisions if she needed it.

Looking around them, Felicity took a moment to appreciate the scenery again, then decided that, if Oliver didn't want her to find people to talk to, then he ought to do a better job of finding stuff to eat. "We have a few things, but it seems like things are kind of scarce. Oliver can hunt, but it's either a little slim or he's a little out of practice."
She gave Wanda a wry smile as they walked, then cleared her throat and asked as casually as she could manage. "You said overseers? But you don't know who. Does anyone know how to get in touch with them?"

"That's right." Her accent thickened momentarily. Wanda hated talking about them because she was pretty sure that they were always being watched. "I don't know. We've found pods and what look like observation areas but no answers." It's documented at the inn.
Where Oliver should really go and look if he doesn't want Felicity there.

"Is that a skill you learned here or did you know how to do it before you got here?"
Her question is twofold: she wants to learn more about the woman next to her and also, maybe, learn to do something here as well.
She mentally filed the information about pods and observation areas for Oliver because she'd tell him she'd gone out, but not until she had something useful to tell him. The inn sounded like a good place to start: lots of information, food, and a group of people that worked together, not necessarily untrustworthy people, either.

It was obvious to her that both Oliver and Felicity were finding their way.
"Here. The rules here are different. I couldn't do what I did before." So she's trained more of her body and skills and less of her powers which were taken away from her.
Wanda's pace quickened as they walked out of town and towards the Breach. It wasn't too far away but she didn't like being caught in the open with her hands full, even if they were full of snuggies.
"There are people willing to teach different skills: fishing, hunting..."

It reminds Felicity of what Oliver's said about staying out of sight, about not trusting people, about making sure things are safe. It reminds her of being on Lian Yu and finding herself in positions that make her feel useless and unable to do anything to improve the situation.
"What'd you do before you got here?"
Felicity figures she'll start there, see how alike the two of them are before she starts asking where she can learn other skills. Maybe Wanda can teach her a thing or two.

She didn't know how to answer Felicities question. It wasn't as if her job as an Avenger was the sort of thing that you put on a resume.
"I was in between work." Which was technically true though it didn't exactly answer Felicity’s question. "Have you heard of the Avengers?" If the answer was yes then it would save Wanda a lot of explanation. "I worked with them."
Wanda peered over the mound of fabric in her arms and then alter their path slightly. After a few more yards, the bottom of the canyon wall came into view, where the thin path to the other town twisted through the rocks. Wanda was sure that she saw a flash of red move at the corner of her vision but she hoped that she was wrong. She was trying to stop the foxes from making their way into this side of the breach.
