Moana hadn't known any of the vegetation when she first arrived in the village and it had taken her months to learn what everything was. Her island had lived off of fruit, live stock and coconuts. Some of the fruit that Mark grew were similar but never completely the same; it was hard to grow things that were meant for an island climate here. Over time, Moana had accepted that she'd never have those familiarizes from home.
"Not exactly. One. I was sailing before I arrived here." She didn't know what happened to the boat or to Maui but she was confident that everything would work out. In a way, she had to be, or she wouldn't have the strength to keep going like she was now.
"Itiiti." Moana turned and looked down at the oinking pig. "Be back in an hour. Okay?" The pig snorted and wiggled his tail like he understood.
She looked up at Steve with a brighter smile. "Really?" She knew a few others who felt connected to the ocean in some sense but it was always nice to meet someone else. "I've always wanted to travel all over the world. Maybe when I get home, I'll get that chance."
