the fountain. closed to star trek types.

The first thing Jim does when he kicks up, after finding himself suddenly (randomly) in the water, is to pull the backpack off of his shoulders and drag it up in a way that impedes his movements less. Breaking the water doesn't take him long after, and he sputters, coughing as his hair sticks wetly to his forehead. He treads water for a moment, catching his breath, and trying to ascertain if he's in any immediate danger from---wherever the hell he is.

Finding none, he heaves up the bag over the edge of the fountain he apparently just swam up out of, and grasps onto the edge to heave himself out with a groan. Despite the abrupt shift and change, he's alert, and grabs for the rucksack to drag it close again. He's already starting to look through it for what is of use, and also for anything that could be a weapon of any kind. Nothing. Wonderful. What he wouldn't give for a Kelvin pod right about now.

He finally gets his breath enough to take a look at what he's wearing, and immediately his face screws up. Red, seriously? He had enough of this from the Academy. Today is already starting off great.

"Wonderful," he mutters sarcastically, and reaches up to scrub a hand over his face.

around the village & at the inn.

The first night, if you can call it night with the sun still blaring overhead for no apparent reason other than it can in this place, he stays at the Inn. He tries to help where he's able to, feeling very much like an impostor, but only at first. It seems they are all in the same situation. He doesn't know how many people are from civilizations or time periods that are warp-capable, and so he keeps a lot of information to himself. Ship is a lot easier to go with than starship. The last thing he needs to worry about is the Prime Directive.

The next couple of days, he's acquainting himself with the village as well as he's able. Which means he's likely caught someone who could use an extra pair of hands with, well, anything.

"Hey," Jim says as he jogs up to the person with a grin. "Need a hand with that?"

He'll even go so far as to offer to share some of his water if he notices anyone out there for a while under that sun.

exploring the forest.

While there are definite drawbacks to the sun never setting, and staying stationary in the sky (nevermind the science behind that which shouldn't be possible in the least), there are also perks. Perks like exploring the forest and the far canyon for hours until he has to turn back. He's found himself forced back a time or two, but it hasn't really deterred him all that much. In the forest, it's a little easier to explore longer, as he is afforded the shade, and he makes sure to bring enough water with him as he goes along.

For the moment, he's finding out the boundaries here as well as he can, but he isn't yet pushing them. Feel free to tag along or stumble upon things.

wildcard. pick a card. any card.

Did I miss something? Hit me up, I'm easy.

Wanda took the bundle and placed it with the other twigs. She could always get more, they'd always need more but for now this was enough. She brushed of her palms, running her hands along the thigh of her jeans as she looked over at Jim.

"Hungry?" It was the least she could offer him since he'd helped her carry the sticks back to the inn and saved her from having to make more than one trip.

Wanda never went to school, She took some classes online when she lived at Headquarters but they were usually in history or language or similarly culture related topics. She wasn't all that interested in technology considering what it had done to her home and her brother.

Wanda shook her head. "I wouldn't have offered if I thought you were imposing." If she considering him imposing she would have tossed him out on his ass. Wanda had no reservations when it came to standing up for herself, or in this example, her space.

"Sit." She gestured to a seat before moving further into the kitchen. "It won't take long."

Wanda already had a fair amount of food prepared. Since she helped cure the meats at the inn she'd take little pieces of her work and store them for her and Clint and the dog. Having so many things to take care of was always on the forefront of Wanda's thoughts.

Wanda set to work, pulling a few items from shelves and placing them on the counter. She set out two bowls to arrange their meal in, layering it first with marinated grilled potato slices. She had made then a few days before and found that they kept decently well while also give Clint a new way to eat potatoes. She then placed salted deer meat on top of that and then a few roots that would add a spiced flavor to the meal.

She grabbed two forks and then headed towards the couch, handing a bowl and fork to Jim before settling in across from him. The puppy joined them, settling happily between the pair.

"About six months but..." Her voice trialed off, her light green eyes looking around the house. "There used to be three of us living here. Now there is only two." She hadn't gotten over the fact that Sam was gone, she'd simply tried to bury the feeling. "Settled..." She repeated the word while picking at her food.

Wanda didn't sound very happy about it either.
