"Both sides are right." Finally the other person who had discovered the crates speaks up. He had been leaning against a wall, but now he steps up onto a table, one not already occupied by weapons or people. To be seen, to be able to see. An old habit from when he used to climb on rooftops in lieu of masts.

"Jo is right. Those buildings, those crates, they weren't there a few days ago. They were put there deliberately, by someone who can grow not only buildings but plants in less time than either of them should take. Someone put these things there to see what would happen." That's what rankles at him, the thought that someone is toying with him, with them, even at this moment. "Those vines grew in a matter of hours. Who knows what these people are capable of?" He still doesn't entirely trust magic, even after his association with Emma. Especially when it seems like that magic is being used against them.

"But she," here he indicates Margaery, "I'm sorry, I don't know your name, is it Margaery? -- is also right. And everyone who agreed with her. These tools have a practical use. I've been fishing with nets I made from vines. They need to be replaced every few days. I could be much more efficient if I had that harpoon. I'm sure that the rest of you could be much more efficient at whatever it is that you do if you had some of those tools."

He calls them tools deliberately, although he is well aware that any one of them could be used to harm each other as well.

"Aye, there's a good chance they want to sow dissent among us all by leaving us these. We don't have to let that happen. We'll have a much better chance at making it through the winter -- about which, remember, we know nothing yet, or how harsh or mild it might be -- if we find some way to work together. As much as I dislike the idea of using something that has so blatant a purpose, I don't see any other way to ensure our survival, and that should be our biggest concern."
