The moose is weird. Not bad, but weird. The first time Natasha heads to the waterfall, it’s there, just hanging out near the edge, looking mostly harmless. Of course, a moose is far from harmless, even if it doesn’t mean you harm, so she gives it a wide berth, keeping to the other side of the pool.
She strips down to her underwear and tank top, and starts off just sitting in the relatively shallow area, her knees pulled up to her chest, the water lapping gently around her neck. She’s mostly here to cool off, and the smell of a house that’s just gone through several days of ash preserving only gets worse in the heat.
After a little while, though, the sitting still begins to grate, and the moose hasn’t moved or shown the slightest bit of interest in her. So she dunks herself under the water properly and cuts through the pool until she’s directly underneath the falls. When she comes up, with her eyes closed, she could almost believe that it’s her shower-head at home. It’s not, of course, and it takes the space of a moment for that illusion to be shattered, but it’s a nice moment all the same.
