Water is, quite literally, his life. It's how he's made his living -- both legitimately and mostly not -- for his entire adult life, and before that too. So of course as soon as he finds out that it's such a good day for swimming that seemingly everyone's doing it, he's heading down to the river to do it himself. It's not like he has to go far; he spends a good portion of every day here at the river already, usually fishing. Plus swimming is also an excuse get out of black clothes that do nothing but soak up heat.

There was a time when he would have jumped in wearing nothing at all, but he's a married man now, so he'll limit himself to only stripping down to his underwear. His hook comes off too, added to the pile of his clothes. There would be no use in accidentally impaling someone with that. That would make this much less enjoyable, and he is quite enjoying himself. He takes to water almost as easily as a fish does.

Without sleeves in the way, the tattoo on his right forearm is now visible. The only thing that could make this better right now would be if this were connected to the open ocean, and there were a ship waiting for him nearby.
