"It is possible to find Coterie assassins almost anywhere in Kirkwall," Fenris replies. It has the sound of one of Varric's stories, and he's not certain whether it's one that he's told, or one that he put into his book, reading still being such hard work for him that he hasn't yet read Varric's tale of them all. He's certain that at least half of it would be lies, knowing Varric as he does. The dwarf can, it's true, give good information when he tries, but in the stories he tells, he rarely seems to try.
Fenris can consider himself more than qualified to discuss the Coterie, however. He has been involved with them more often than he would care to be, both because they'd gone after Hawke and because they'd taken an interest in him.
"I've never known the bartender at the Hanged Man to take payment in anything other than hard coin or promises. I suspect Varric may have been telling you tales."
