He hacks at the vines on the same crate with his hook. It's probably more effective to free them one at a time. While he works, he tries to shove away the nagging thoughts at the back of his mind. This village just appeared here, like it was built overnight. The paint on these crates looks like it was put there yesterday, yet there's several years' worth of vines grown over the top of them.

Someone can just construct ruined buildings in a few days. Someone can grow vines overnight.

"Do you suppose we should open them and see what's inside?"
