Benedict might not know the doctor personally, but theirs is a small habble, and it's virtually impossible to remain ignorant of everyone for long, especially when he's got Kate lying beside him every night. Kate seemingly knows every face in the village, and she'll talk to him about the residents before they fall asleep, which has left Benedict feeling comfortable enough to just walk up to just about anyone and strike up a conversation with them, forgoing the elaborate introductions he had felt compelled to indulge in when he first arrived.
