"We work together on the chores to keep the place running," Jean explained. "Some people cook, some hunt. Some work on the gardens and the fields that we have growing. It hasn't been that bad here lately but earlier, when I first got here, it was really cold. There were feet of snow on the ground."

That had been more than a little uncomfortable and Jean was glad it seemed to have melted away for now. "People overall are pretty patient if you don't know how to do that stuff."
