"Look, I get it, I promise," Jean said. Her voice was softer now, more sympathetic. She'd gone through similar when she'd first shown up and clearly this girl had something important going on back home that she needed to get back to, a mission that had to be carried out. Jean didn't know what it was, didn't know if it was on the world-saving scale or just on the need to get back to my daily life scale but she could tell it was important to her, at least. That was all that mattered.
