"That's not necessary." Graves tells her simply, moving on to the next patch of weeds and giving her a brief smile. Things will be a lot simpler with magic, he thinks, but that's not the whole point here -- they're all stuck in this together, and despite Graves' enduring misgivings about No-Majs, the young woman before him doesn't seem the type to instigate hostilities.
