Fountain; Very Early Morning

Wanda pushed her way from the fountain, a noticeable frown tugging at her lips as she moved. She was soaked, it was freezing and she had no idea how she got here. Moving quickly, Wanda pulled the backpack from her shoulders and rummaged through its contents. She didn't know what she was expecting to find but she was grateful to see a set of dry clothes stashed inside. After making sure that there wasn't anyone watching, Wanda began to strip off the wet layers and pull on what she had found.

Her movements were quick as she pulled the pale gray scrubs over her head. Any sound or inclination of another person would cause her focus to shift. She'd quickly turn towards her new company, red mist snapping an icicle from nearby shooting it towards the stranger.

Wanda would stop her attack just before striking. She wanted answers.

Around; Mid-Day

Wanda took the time to explore the village; learning the few threads of information that were available as well as who else was around. Her powers felt different, distant, and her tests to use them confirmed that a large fraction of her strength had been taken from her. It was frustrating and it pulled at the strands of tension that gathered beneath her breastbone.

She didn't like feeling like a rat in a cage.

She meandered through the village and around it's outskirts, her eyes inspecting for details that might offer a clue that others have missed. Wanda was familiar with cold weather and snow; neither deterred her from having a look around however she didn't wander very far.

Near the Inn; Night Sky

As the afternoon drifted away from Wanda she began to noticed the intensity of the lights stretching across the sky. She's seen auroras in the past. They were streaks of light that curled like brilliant ocean waves against the dark contrast of night. She had hoped to see the stars but the auroras were shining like a second sun, efficiently hiding anything else from sight.

"Hmm?" Her tone was soft, her chin tilted up to stare at the sky. "How is it that people sleep."

Wanda knew she should sleep but her thoughts were heavy and distracting. The auroras gave her something to focus on and for the moment she wanted that distraction.

Wanda nodded her head. She didn't need to talk to walk but there were so many questions floating around her head.

"There was an explosion outside of the compound. I don't know how much you know of it but the world governments were putting the Avengers under their watch. I was told to stay behind." And not leave.

"And you?"

"I am from before. I had returned to Asgard," Thor said, thinking about what the others had told them about the points in time which they came through the fountain.

"I am earlier than you, though there are others who are from later. This place does something strange with time."

Wanda chewed over that thought, unsure how to she felt knowing that time meant very little. If someone came from to far back then she'd be their enemy. Things could get complicated if she wasn't careful.

"Who do you this is behind this?"

"That, I am not certain of," Thor admitted. He could be honest with Wanda, someone he knew of from back on Midgard, and he trusted her. She was part of his team and part of those who kept Midgard safe.

"I thought it might be my brother, once, but I don't think so. He would be overt about his involvement."

Wanda didn't know Loki well but she'd heard about the incidences before her involvement with the Avengers. He would most certainly gloat in his brothers face.

"There must be a reason... why they remain hidden." She continued to walk behind Thor, her eyes scanning the houses that they pass. Most are empty but then who built them? There were too many questions to allow for Wanda to feel comfortable.

"It doesn't make sense. What I know of the leaders of Midgard tells me that they, too, would want to take credit for capturing the members of the Avengers Initiative. I fear that we might be looking at a new enemy, one we haven't met before," Thor said.

"Still, no harm has come to any of the Avengers since I have been here. Hopefully it will remain that way. Let me show you to the Inn," he said. "You can hopefully get a place to stay and rest."

Wanda nodded her head and followed him into the Inn. There was a lot that she wanted to think about but her thoughts were to jumbled to make sense of much. She might be able to sleep but she didn't know how well that would work.

"Thank you. Do you stay here too?" She assumed that Thor probably had his own home considering his very nature, even within the Avengers.

"No, I share a house with a woman called Annie," Thor said. "It's somewhat outside the main part of the village, along the road that we walked to come here. I can take you there someday, if you like. It's just easier to take meals here at the Inn."

For now, at least, he thought Wanda might be more comfortable surrounded by others and not alone.

"Someday." She agreed softly. "Rest sounds good." He was right, she preferred the inn right now. At least until she gets her barrings. It didn't seem like there was an immediate danger here and she wanted time if she could afford it.

There were already to many things going on in her head.

"Thank you Thor."

"The pleasure was mine. You do not have to thank me for helping a comrade at arms," Thor said, waving that off. He did not want Wanda to feel like that she was indebted to him in any way, especially considering that he would do the same for any member of the Avengers.

"Is there anything else you need right now? Something I might be able to aid you in?"

Wanda offered him a soft smile. She liked Thor and one of the reasons why was because he was so straight forward.

"No but I'll let you know if there is." Thor was someone that she trusted and while Wanda liked to handle things herself, he and the other Avengers here were going to be the first people she went too for help.

"Take care, Wanda," he said, tipping his head a bit in deference to her. The customs of Midgard were different from those of Asgard, yes, but Thor would be remiss if he did not show Wanda the courtesy and respect she should be afforded as both a woman and a comrade at arms.

"If you need anything, you need but seek me out and I will do my best to provide it."
