001 Arrival Post

WHEN: February 12th
OPEN TO: EVERYONE!
WARNINGS: Threatening people in the first post.
STATUS: CLOSED
Wanda pushed her way from the fountain, a noticeable frown tugging at her lips as she moved. She was soaked, it was freezing and she had no idea how she got here. Moving quickly, Wanda pulled the backpack from her shoulders and rummaged through its contents. She didn't know what she was expecting to find but she was grateful to see a set of dry clothes stashed inside. After making sure that there wasn't anyone watching, Wanda began to strip off the wet layers and pull on what she had found.
Her movements were quick as she pulled the pale gray scrubs over her head. Any sound or inclination of another person would cause her focus to shift. She'd quickly turn towards her new company, red mist snapping an icicle from nearby shooting it towards the stranger.
Wanda would stop her attack just before striking. She wanted answers.
Wanda took the time to explore the village; learning the few threads of information that were available as well as who else was around. Her powers felt different, distant, and her tests to use them confirmed that a large fraction of her strength had been taken from her. It was frustrating and it pulled at the strands of tension that gathered beneath her breastbone.
She didn't like feeling like a rat in a cage.
She meandered through the village and around it's outskirts, her eyes inspecting for details that might offer a clue that others have missed. Wanda was familiar with cold weather and snow; neither deterred her from having a look around however she didn't wander very far.
As the afternoon drifted away from Wanda she began to noticed the intensity of the lights stretching across the sky. She's seen auroras in the past. They were streaks of light that curled like brilliant ocean waves against the dark contrast of night. She had hoped to see the stars but the auroras were shining like a second sun, efficiently hiding anything else from sight.
"Hmm?" Her tone was soft, her chin tilted up to stare at the sky. "How is it that people sleep."
Wanda knew she should sleep but her thoughts were heavy and distracting. The auroras gave her something to focus on and for the moment she wanted that distraction.

Fountain; Very Early Morning
Wanda pushed her way from the fountain, a noticeable frown tugging at her lips as she moved. She was soaked, it was freezing and she had no idea how she got here. Moving quickly, Wanda pulled the backpack from her shoulders and rummaged through its contents. She didn't know what she was expecting to find but she was grateful to see a set of dry clothes stashed inside. Wanda would stop her attack just before striking. She wanted answers.
Around; Mid-Day
Wanda took the time to explore the village; learning the few threads of information that were available as well as who else was around.
Near the Inn; Night Sky

Mid-Day
As such, he was mostly sticking indoor if he could help it, but he didn't exactly want to turn into a hermit either. They were losing so many people lately it seemed and he didn't want people to get the wrong idea about himself. He had decided to compromise and was sitting on his porch, a notebook open in his lap as he jotted down some updates he wanted to keep straight.
He probably wouldn't have even realized Wanda was walking past, but hopefully if she was keeping an eye out she might spot him.
Mid-Day
Her boots crunched against the snow, her eyebrows raising as she stopped in front of his front porch. It was such a cute picture.
"Is this what you've spent all your time doing?" Wanda didn't have any heart to hearts with Sam but, like Steve, she's trained with Sam and they spent a fair amount of time in each others company. Or at least to Wanda it felt like a lot of time, she didn't exactly have normal friends. She had the Avengers and that was enough. "You're slacking."
no subject
Sam stood up. Wanda might have been slower to trust, but that wasn't Sam's way. He considered Wanda a friend -- perhaps not as good a friend as Steve, but he'd do a lot for the young woman. "I'd hardly call that slacking."
no subject
Wanda's eyebrow rose at his comment. "So what notes do you have?" Clint hadn't made it sound like they had very much information about this place. It had managed not just to keep them here, but Thor, who traveled between worlds regularly. It was alarming.
Her lips twisted into a bit of a smirk. "Glad to see you." Wanda welcomed any familiar face.
no subject
"I could show you if you're curious, but it's actually pretty dull and if you might have heard about some of it already," which made him wonder, so he asked, "So how long have you been here. Don't tell me I've gotten that wrapped up in my own stuff that I missed you arriving a few days ago or something."
And here he smiled a little, "It's good to see you too."
no subject
She waved a hand, a light smile tugging at her lips. "Maybe another time." When she thought she could do something with the information. "A few hours." It hadn't been that long and she was just making her way around.
"Your own stuff?" Wanda's eyebrow raised. "What's that?" She wondered if something else had been happening.
no subject
"Cooking at the inn, patrolling the woods or the outskirts of the village, and helping with some of the animals," he explained, all of it said in an off-handed way that spoke of it being almost routine and monotonous to him at times. Apparently it wasn't impossible to adjust to life here.
no subject
"Are there many things in the woods?" She hadn't gone past the outskirts of the village; not yet. It would be where she went next but she wanted to test the new limits of her powers first.
no subject
"We also had some attacks from a strange creature, so I don't really recommend going in alone if you can help it," he added. The woman who had been killed hadn't been entirely helpless -- she'd had abilities similar to Wanda in the sense that she could handle her own -- but she had still fallen prey and been killed. Sam didn't want to see the same fate befall Wanda.
no subject
"Are you living here?" She nodded at the house behind him.
no subject
He didn't bother glancing over his shoulder, just nodded, "For the moment. The last place I was staying in got hit by an earthquake, so I moved here." He decided not to mention it had been with Steve. His friend was gone now, so it hardly mattered.
no subject
"You live alone?" She wondered what else might be here. "Can you live anywhere?"
Wanda was curious about why he lived alone. She knew that he had an apartment, he didn't stay at the Avengers HQ like her and Steve but he was around enough that it felt like it at times.
no subject
Sam hesitated but decided to go ahead and admit it, "Steve was here until just recently. I was sharing the house with him."
no subject
After a moment of though Wanda nodded her head. It was obvious that she's more or less accepted that this place was really strange.
"I was going to stay with Clint. You should join us." She'd feel better having more of the avengers together.
no subject
Sam had mostly given up on it making sense -- especially since Bucky had arrived from various points in his own timeline which just made things even more confusing.
He smirked, "Doesn't sound like a bad idea. Guess I didn't realize Clint was going to leave the inn."
no subject
Wanda knew that Clint moving out of the inn was her fault. She felt nervous at the inn, worried that she might run into the living alternate version of her brother. To many emotions clashed and mixed together and she felt more lost than ever. Clint could read her easily and so they were looking for a place to stay.
"I had suggest it." She finally admits, wondering if Sam knew about Pietro.
no subject
"Well, this place is bad enough without having to stay where you might not want to. We have our pick for the time being, so it's not a problem," Sam finally said.
no subject
She turned to go, figuring they'd work out the details later. She knew where Clint was and it wouldn't be so difficult to find Sam again. They'd figure it out and then see what became of this place.
