"You traveled with your doctor?" The thought strikes him as odd. He's had the same doctor his entire life, a family doctor on Staten Island that his still drives two hours to see for check-ups, even though he lives in Manhattan now. It means they know each other relatively well, Sonny always asking about his family during their visits, and vice versa. But the idea of being close enough to him to go traveling with him is absurd.
Maybe things are different in Europe. Maybe people form unusually close blonds with their doctors. She did say best friend, after all. Maybe they were friends before he became her doctor. Either way, it's certainly not his place to judge.
