Truthfully, it sounds like the American Dream to him. Forget all the wife and kids and picket fence stuff — being able to travel and see the world and go on adventures (dangerous or otherwise) sounds way more incredible. Like the best experience of your life, he'd think.

This doesn't count. Waking up in a fountain in the middle of a sleet storm to a village with little technology or supplies is not his idea of a good time. Though, he supposes it's still probably an adventure. Even if it's an involuntary one.
