"Australia," Kate says, ignoring the distinctions of the separate colonies in favour of the continent as a whole. "Terra Australis," she adds, in case Latin is something he knows.

She doesn't know any, just that and other legal terms.

"It is... South. Um."

She's seen maps of the world, but where is Iceland? Somewhere between... Europe and somewhere. She wasn't paying attention to that bit.
