As it is, he lets her stay there, but his comfort begins to ebb away as if he doesn't really understand what he could possibly do to make her feel better after admitting that he's a murderer. "I put twenty-five children on a helicopter and sent them to die," he says, because if she's going to understand, she needs to know.
