"There have been a few crises," Jon admitted. "The earth has trembled and shook, there have been floods. There hasn't been anything involving death until just recently, though, and I wonder if that is not a harbinger for things to come."

Everything in this place seemed to build toward something, some inevitable end, but what that was, Jon had no idea. He had never been good at seeing the end motives of men and had only been good at living in the moment.
